Default So happy but troubled at the same time!

Hi all.Today i ordered 2 tickets for the Munich show (via Kartenhaus web page) and i am so damn happy. It's "Stelhatz inneranium" something like that which i guess it's closer to the stage than general standing (please correct me if i am wrong). My last time was in Huddersfield,UK (One wild night tour) and i was a student there at that time.
So despite the fact that i did travel a lot by plane (UK TO GREECE AND BACK) i got this fear of travelling by plane after seeing on TV once in a while airplane accidents.
So i had the idea of travelling by train but it's almost 40 hours from GREECE and the fair is more expensive.By plane it's almost 2 and something hours.
I want to ask you if you have the same fear or if you worry a bit when travelling by plane.I may sound stupid but, hey that's me. So what do you suggest?

there is no GC in germany.
Stehplatz Innenraum just means general admission.

1. "Stehplatz Innenraum" is general admission (there are no front-of-stage-tickets (sometimes named golden tix or premium tix) in Germany.

2. Do you drive with the car? I understand your fear, I for myself feel not very well when travelling by plane and I am always happy, when I am back to the ground.
But when you lat it LOGICALLY, to have an accident by car is more probably then to have an accident by plane. And do you really think about this every time when you drive with the car?

See you in Munich!

Josy

I'm not afraid to fly but I used to hate it when I was a kid becuase my ears use to pop all the time and it was so sore that I would always dread going on a plane. For whatever reason when I got older it stopped happening and now I quite enjoy flying. So basically when I was a kid I associated great pain to going on a plane but now I associate pleasure to going on a plane becuase I'm always going somewhere I want to visit. Basically I'm focusing on what's good about it and everything a person dose is determined by the desire to gain pleasure or the need to avoid pain, and where your perception of what an event means (in this case flying) comes from, is your pre-concieved beliefs, in this case you believe flying equals possible crash, ie. death.

You're problem (and I hate using that word, challenge is far better) is a very common one. You associate extreme pain (death) to getting on a plane, so obviously you'll be hesitant to get on one and that belief came from a program you saw. What you have to realise and start focusing on is that that program probably showed 0.000000000000000000001% of all flights. Flying is far and away the safest mode of transport, infact statistically you have more chance of being killed by your trousers then you do in a plane crash. Also more people are killed every year by falling coconuts then in plane crashes. It's just so unbelievable rare that a plane goes down.

What I'm trying to do here is destroy that old belief that getting on a plane = good chance of dying. It dosen't, look down at your trousers and realise that you are in more danger of dying taking them off tonight then you will be by getting on a plane.

Then what you wanna do is start thinking about all the great things about getting on a plane. What dose it mean? You're getting to experience something unique, you're doing it because you're going to see your favourite band in concert and you're overcoming this challenge you have in life and as such, you're becoming a stronger and better person for it.

The best thing to do is write down all the things it will cost you, financially, emotionally etc. to holding on to this belief and all the great things you will gain and all the pleasure you will get from overcoming it.

Hope this helps a bit.

Phil

Last time I was on a plane we landed in the middle of a bad storm. Not a nice landing! I did say at the time never ever again. But they do say your more likely to have a car crash than a plane crash I am going on a plane in two weeks time. Im not nervous or anything. I just think what the hell...

I live in an island...if Im afraid to fly I'll never get anywhere!!! (unless I go by boat which sucks!)

And the ear popping...horrible crap. Olbas oil is great for it though

I was once in a plane approaching Instanbul and we were descending. Suddenly the plane had to pull up extremely fast and extremely steeply. I don't know what happened but my guess is that we were going to collide with something if we didn't. It was shockingly scary.

My friend doesn't like flying and the first time she ever went on a plane there was some kind of problem ad the oxygen masks had to be let down for people to use.

A few years ago a few aeroplanes flew into some tall buildings somewhere.

If you crash into the mountains you can store the dead bodies in the snow and eat them when you are hungry. Some people did this.

Have fun on the aeroplane.

I've been on planes since I was about 1 year old so it's never really bothered me. The only thing that has bothered me in the past few years though is how claustrophobic it is (I'm pretty big, so there isn't much space for my legs, which makes it uncomfortable) In future I'd pay extra for seats with more legroom.

As Krycek said though the chance of a plane crashing is very small, a statistic I read was that more people are killed every year by donkeys than die in plane crashes. Since planes are safer than cars, plus as you said it would take 15-20x longer by car, logically it makes much more sense to travel by plane.
