I know he brought it up on Virgin Radio about a week after the tour was over...i cant remember exacly what was said and how it was brought up in conversation but he did say something along the lines of it probably not being one of the better shows on the tour...

That was it, Virgin Radio. I was expecting more of an explanation.

To be honest, if he dwelt on things like that, he wouldn't be where he is today and would have thrown in the towel a long time ago!

I guess it shows how professional he is the rest of the time!?

Okay guys, first of all I totally understand you, if I had to witness that nightmare I would be pissed off, too.

BUT I *think* I read somewhere the other day that this was the day they recieved the message that Richie's dad was ill and after that they wanted to cancel the show but soemhow couldn't because of the contract.
If this was the case (I'm really not too sure!) then I could at least understand what this show was all about.
Can anyone confirm?

That is true about the news about Richies dad, but alot of other factors probably contributed too. The fact that from the videos (of the opening songs at least) Jon seems fine, might suggest that it went downhill from a few songs in. May be anything from the crowd reaction, weather, jon 'slipping' on the ramp up to the fact that the show was added on the end of the tour and Jon just felt that he didnt want to be there. Bad news about Richies dad probably didnt help matters and put things into prespective and he probably asked himself wtf he was doing in Hull that night of all times (no offence to anyone that lives there!)

..I don't know if they heard the sad news about Richie's dad that night or not...But Jon did not communicate with Richie all night!..Jon pretty much blanked him... something that maybe video would not capture! It was a very odd night...Jon just seemed to dislike everyone ...even his own band members.

I think that is a good point. Everybody wants Jon to be a rock star and not sing ballads but when he acts like a spoiled diva as so many rock stars do - everybody complains.

I would bet that show was a combination of things that was just too much. If I have a rotten day at work - nobody much notices. If Jon does - everybody notices. I'm sure he has had far more bad days than that one concert but for the most part - we don't know about them.

I think giving the guy a break is a good idea.

I dont want to get into the Whole debate again. but I really dread to think what had ahppened had he acted like that at Giants. Or another big City like London or Munich for that matter.

He, and yes I do mean he, wants to remember the UK fans who have stuck by the Band through thick and thin. As pleased as I was for everyone at Giants night 3, for getting a well deserved Finish to the tour, it stuck in my throat at how much of a contrast it was to the last Night in the UK.
