Richie will be back in the fold once he has got this solo tour out of his system.

Shame they didn't mark 30 years with something special like a box-set or even delay WAN album and tour until this year which would have made a lot more sense than doing it last year if 30 years was going to pass by with nothing happening.

I bet the band didn't envisage the 30th year being celebrated so quietly and with people tweeting their memories - pretty poor for a massive band being around for 3 decades.

Do we know do sure they won't celebrate 30 years without something at some point this year? The cynic in me says they won't pass up the opportunity to cash in on it in some way.

As for a tour, yes, I'd like to see one more at least. If only to say farewell. They may not be what they once were, but they've given me so many great memories over the 28 years I've been listening and have always been a huge part of my life, musically. I always have a great time a the shows and welcome the chance to see them again, with or without Richie. It will happen too, no way Jon will go out quietly.

Hello everyone! I've been reading a lot of the posts here and there is one thing I honestly don't understand. Why do the majority of all posters here think that Bon Jovi could hardly do ONE more tour at best? I strongly disagree with all of you. Jon is 52 years old. I know Tico will turn 61 later this year. So what? If they are all healthy, why not remain active for 7,8, or even 10 more years and not 1 or 2 but 3 tours? We know a lot of the classic rock bands that are still out there. They may not be what they once were, but at least they're still putting one helluva show (saw Deep Purple last year and had a blast). And they're fairly older than our guys. I know most of you have already seen them dozens of times. But I am from Bulgaria and have so far only had the chance to see them twice (Sofia 2013 & Bucharest 2011). And I am not ready to say goodbye just yet.

Bon Jovi could probably play on for many years, but I doubt we will see many more gigantic world tours. They won't want the travelling as they get older so it'll no doubt be more US based with the occasional big show abroad as opposed to winding down for good.

You're right, there are a large number of 'legacy artists' still going strong who are older than Bon Jovi. The issue I think is that the bands music is youthful, simplistic, fun lyrics with a fast tempo. Jon with his current silver hair, aging looks, fading vocals etc doesn't lend itself to their material. Jon singing Born to be my Baby might look and feel a little odd in 10 years. He's alluded to this fact occasionally over the last few years.

EG:
Aerosmith have the old school blues rocker look that still matches their music
Springsteen's material has the lyrical and musical complexity that has aged as well as he has
The Stones are just an anomaly that still just about pull off their stuff live (even if they do look like their about to keel over on stage)

I don't think this band has the luxury of being able to do what they do and pull it off for another 10+ years.

It will be a very sad day and I too am hoping for a good few shows yet, but 30 years, still being the no.1 touring act. There are no bigger days ahead for them and i'd like them to bow out from a strong position.

would love to see them scale down and play smaller venues like Sheperds Bush when back in UK. Big venues are crap and so is O2 unless you pay over the top

I understand why people are sad that this might be the end but the band have had an amazing run. Most of us have had the opportunity to see them over and over again since 2000. The last tour was pretty rubbish and went some way to putting a dent in the band's reputation. Jon's voice and energy have gone, Tico can't hit like he used to and Richie has walked out.

I'm not saying there won't be a comeback but I can't see why anyone would be hungry for one. If you're young and haven't seen Bon Jovi before then just accept that you missed the boat and move on.

If I was guaranteed to get a show as good as Hyde Park in 2011 I'd snap their hand off for tickets.

This is very spot on.

I'd echo that. Not a week goes why where i don't play at least a few tracks from that bootleg. Great crowd, good voice, strong strong set, band on fire.
