So what's the verdict on Richie?

I just watched video of JBJ and Richie NSG before I even noticed this thread existed...

My first thought was Richie looks rough , like he is either medicated or drunk. My second thought was how can he sing whilst chewing etc.... then it occurred to me he and Jon are getting rather close to each other singing down the same mic... maybe Richie just wanted fresh breathe for Jon

Im hoping he was just tired ...... he did look at Jon with genuine affection when Jon was singing.

I distinctly remember Richie chewing gum throughout the Bounce tour. Suddenly a craving for spearmint = Save Richie '10? I get the speculation but it's being blown way out of proportion.

A report from tomorrows The Sun newspaper states "Richie Sambora, lead singer with pop rock combo Bon Jovi has described his booze hell on the road with the band! A source close to the band has declared that he must drink a lot because he is always chewing on stage and has looked tired at the last 2 shows. An onlooker said "It was unbelievable, he even missed a note on one song and I should know I watched it 100 more times on youtube to make sure!

Yeay me too, i remember Richie chewing gum on Bounce and HAND, and I have a tape of an interview off of FOX news from the Bounce tour where Richie gave a tour backstage and on his "quick change" table there was a lot of Wrigley's Winter Fresh gum, i remember that standing out because that is what i chewed for years.

I havent been to a show this tour and probably won't get to one at all so i have not seen Richie first hand but I really hope like Matt said this is all specualtion being blown way out of proportion

does it also mention the dickhead on jovitalk? the one who is taking the piss out of fans who are simply concerned over the guys health?

There's being concerned for the guy and there's overdoing it, going after Jon for keeping the tour going when Richie's obviously drunk and falling into his old ways.

I,m not taking the piss you twat,I,m a Jovi fan who saw them long before you were born and would worry about his health but not from watching a you tube video and work out from that,that RS has a drink problem. JBJ uses a teleprompter because he forgets the words but that doesnt mean hes a pisshead does it?

It's not just from the youtube videos though, danfan has said he noticed something was up with him and so did someone else has spoke about it in one of the recent gig threads.

if you look back at my comments, you'll notice i started the thread simply asking is he really as bad as everyone is making out, the only thing involving cancelling a tour i mentioned was the fact that we dont know whether it will come to that or whether jon would do it (because of the money) and i actually simply said "we dont know do we"

the youtube video is a good example, its strange behaviour for him as he definately looks like he's struggling.

Plus don't try and patronise me with "who saw them long before you were born", it doesnt make you anymore important or your opinion anymore valid.

I,m not having a go at you and dont think I.m more or as important as anyone else on this board,my post was a just a sarcastic (but meant in jest) comment on what seems to be over analysing RS,s health because hes had a couple of off nights. From what I,ve read it hasnt been on every song and if there was a real great problem then surely he would be getting the death stare from JBJ himself.
BTW I didnt say anything about you mentioning the tour being cancelled.

it s not just this tour-since bounce he s been going off the boil. He s my hero i owe so much to him but he s so far part his best as a guitar player now.and i don t buy into the age think. I think his soul is wounded.lets face it he is an alcoholic. They all are probably,jon does a bottle of wine every night but i m sure dave still parties and hugh is a booze bag. I think richie is past it-or bored.needs to do a solo record!
