I believe it was Smashmouth that was reported a while back on mtv.com
I think jon has a soft spot for the Calling but I don't know if they are done promoting their last album or if thye have a new one out.
The Goo Goo Dolls could use another big tour

OK Seb, I listened. I'll give you credit - You play a better guitar than I can.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think your version is better than Jon's?

Have any of you actually seen Velvet Revolver live? I love GNR and really grew to like contraband but I've seen them live twice and they are absolute shite. Quite apart from Scott Weiland being one of the gayest frontmen I've ever seen they sound terrible. You can't hear the guitars, drums, bass or vocals. It's just a huge mess of noise with Weiland shouting over the top. They ran round a lot and threw themselves into it but it just sounded terrible. They most definitely could not teach Bon Jovi a thing or two, believe me I'm not a total Bon Jovi fanboy but JBJ is one of the great frontmen of his generation, Scott Weiland does not come close. I'd quite like to see Journey as support as long as they don't play anything off the new album. Neal Schon has mentioned getting together with Bon Jovi before so they can do some big shows in Europe. I know that may be a bit old school for some but I'd really like to see Neal Schon live, one of my favourite guitar players. Pity Steve Perry isn't with them anymore though, one of the greatest singers ever. Please don't be Rooster or Simple Plan.

*GASP*

You didn't just bash Scott Weiland!!! *double gasp*

I have seen them live and I really liked it - the sound was shite but it always is in that particular venue. Scott is an awesome frontman, though a tad bit scary lol.

As far as opening for BJ - I wouldn't want VR to. I don't think BJ could follow them - not necessarily because VR is so much better, but because VR is an awesome live act and BJ are a bit too tame compared to VR.

Devil: Jet are a bore live. The singer covers a one foot radius around his mic at the most. You'd think they'd be rocking the joint based on their debut album, but they don't. Not sure if it is because they might be a bit full of themselves or plain lack of talent, but I've seen them live and am not crying for more.

I would like to see Kasabian. They have an awesome album out and the band actually tries very hard to put on a good rock show. Plus, all the girls could pre-drool over the guitarist...

Yes I've seen VR live, have several bootlegs of them and think they're one of the best bands since a long time. They're in no way shite, as it all sounds just as tight as GnR once did, after all it's just a well oiled machine. And Scott Weiland has a lot, lot more energy on stage than Jon has, however, he's just a different singer. But when it comes to energy, they could teach Bon Jovi a lesson nowadays.

However, I wouldn't like them to open for Bon Jovi. Like Spunky says, Bon Jovi wouldn't be able to follow them. You'd get these hard rock songs from VR, and then you'd get opening songs like Bounce and One Wild Night and the likes, which would just sound lame compared to the big rock show Velvet Revolver just had given.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

The quality of the songs matters not how hard the songs are. Slipknot could open for BJ. The crowd could care less and still party once one wild night begins. So Velvet Revolver won;t be a hard act to follow.
BTW I've also seen them live and really wanted to like it, but I didn't so...

I give Nickelback a good chance to open for BJ since they have more or less the same sort of audience. Only problem is they have the fire show and all... They won't be able to use that because BJ wont be able to follow that. The newly formed INXS would also be good.

i' d love some 80s rock bands: Cinderella would be a dream come true like the tours in the eighties, or Ratt. Of new bands, Buckcherry who has just comen back with a new album in October, or Hurricane Party who are going to be the next big thing!

VR rock! Their show was probably one of the best I've ever been to!

My wishlist for opening acts:

VR
The*Ga*Gas
The Glitterati
Rooster
The Killers (although I've seen them already)
The Calling
Nickelback could be quite cool, havent seen them for about 3 years now
Europe
Audioslave
Van Halen (again!)

I dunno, anyone who's good really! Or maybe some band I never would have considered, or who I've never even heard of ... like Live were, although I'd hope they were somewhat better live (don't get me wrong, I love Live in the studio, but live I was ... underwhelmed). Hopefully not Smashmouth though
