Default So Who's Nervous About This Final Leg?

I'll address this with 2 questions

1. We've been joking about them trading in Dry County and Hey God for Right Side of Wrong and Strangers Anymore once returning to this side of the Atlantic, but are shitty sets a legit concern?

2. There's a reasonable chance the band may be a bit stressed from the European Leg. And I'm not just going by the evidence that Jon was pissed at Richie at Twickenham or anything like that. It just seems natural, and there's always a chance any tensions could carry over into this final run. Of course, last tour they capped off the European Leg with the Chernobyl-esque disaster known as Hull, and I remember the final North American Leg was pretty strong after that. Twickenham may have been a bit disappointing, but it was still a good gig and light-years away from Hull.

Still, is anyone worried any pissy tensions from the long UK leg could be a factor?

I never really worry about pissy tensions within the band.
A. There's no way of knowing.
B. One would think that the band is professional enough not to carry it on stage, at this point.

As for the sets, I think it's a semi-legit concern.
I think both Sarnia and Detroit will be standard, though I think that will include Always, and possibly the one song rare slot (where DC and I Believe were played at Twick) Now, I think the Garden shows will get some of the rare Euro songs, since it's being shot for DVD, and the last shows of the tour are usually somewhat special. That back-carries to Boston, which may prove to be a "dress rehearsal" for the DVD. As for Central Park, i think that will be a hit-heavy show, but hopefully will get a cover or two (Mrs. Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Imagine).
All we can do is hope at this point, but I don't think the first two sets will be any indication of the next five.

More of the "let's insanely read into EVERY gesture Jon makes towards anyone" stuff.

I'm with Brian. I think Sarnia will be very standard. Detroit could be a bit interesting since they played there already this tour. Yea, I guess I was too far back at Twick but I could see the stage fine. Either way, I'm excited for all the remaining shows as I know this it it for a while.

Brian it was nice to see you yesterday!!

-I've been meaning to ask, are their other band's on the card for that date of Bayfest, or is it one band per date. (I know the headliners are each one a day though)

-It was nice seeing you as well. Sorry bout the fact that I was so tired I could barely stand up

I don't think the setlists will be spectacular like some of the European shows.

1. Could we be heading for "vanilla" again? Sure. I hope not, but it's possible. I think Bayfest and Central Park will probably gets sets along the line of Rock In Rio -- pretty standard. But as I've said elsewhere on here, it didn't matter that night, did it? Remember how excited we all were to be Jovi fans after that show? If they pull off a performance like that at Central Park (and I'm close enough to even see the stage) I'll be thrilled to death. As far as the arena shows go, I think it all depends on what the band is planning to do for the DVD. There's already a DVD devoted to Lost Highway, so I'm really not expecting a ton of LH songs for this DVD. If they are planning to put a few old rarities on it, then we might see some in Detroit and Boston as they try to decide what would work best. Considering the number of times that Dry County was played and how it sounds, I am hoping and praying that it is already planned for the DVD. Surely they want that song on a official DVD at some point. It didn't make it on Live From London when the time was truly right. With Jon's voice this good and Richie on fire, surely this is time! That's my hope anyway.

2. I'm not worried. Is it possible that they were getting on each others last nerve by the end of the European leg? Maybe, or maybe we just read too much into one particular moment. Are they gonna be pissy onstage when they're recording a DVD? I sincerely doubt it.

I work for Rogers, the title sponsor of Bayfest and I saw the schedule... there are two openers for this show and Bon Jovi is only scheduled for 2 hours (9-11) and it does seem to have an 11pm curfew... So there is some concern from us down here that it is going to be quite standard and rather short.
