I also like cover songs but I agree that Shout is way too overplayed meanwhile.

the covers are good for the casual fans as their well known songs the casuals will know them.

It's not really fair to say replace Shout with Dry County. One is a 2 minute snippet during Bad Medicine and the other is a 10 minute song in its own right.

Well I was thinking about it before. I heard Dry County back in 2006 at Giant's Stadium. Dry County was a bigger hit overseas I believe, right? It certainly would be smart for the band to start playing it more over here, get the fans more interested in that song. It's an awesome concert song with a killer solo by Richie. It's also so true about our economy today. That's why I think we will hear it once or twice before the tour is over.

I hope we see a big difference in the set tonight for Boston. I talked to a few people who went to the show last night and they said it was an awesome show, even with the setlist being the way it was. A lot of people, including myself said they were on auto-pilot, but apparently they weren't. Jon was interacting with the crowd a lot.

Regards,

Jason F.

I can't stand Shout...

I was glad they mixed up Sleep, was getting really bored of that but it was a welcome change hearing the medleys

See, it's really not for the casual fans.
Especially the type of casual fans that Bon Jovi attracts. I hate to say it, but that's not the "type" of song they associate with Bon Jovi. So that basically becomes a ten minute buzzkill for a lot of people.
I don't like it, and it's not fair, but it's true.
That being said, I'm a selfish die-hard and wish they would play it a lot, but I can't lie and say I don't understand why they don't, as I can do with songs like Hey God, or OWN amongst others.

As far as covers, I myself am bored of Shout.
I love BM, but it's SO MUCH BETTER without Shout.
The others though, I'm good with.
I really, really love them doing Hallelujah.

I guess I should have said any BJ song. I did not literally mean sticking DC in there,it was just a Jovi song I typed fast. I still feel covers are really not a good thing. Wouldn't you rather hear another Jovi song?

Depends on the Jovi song, cause I can think of several that I'd gladly hear Hallelujah over.
