Default Sorry but....This needs sorting!!

I really dont want to bash the band which I love, live and breath every day of my life but after watching 3 great shows this week, finishing with Twickenham a few hours ago (During which they played Diamond Ring and the full album version of Dry County!) I have to have a moan. Is it to much to ask that the sound enginneers get the mix of the instruments right? I am Richies biggest fan and I just want to hear him for the entire concert, not just now and again when the drums or bass dont drown him out. Im sure if Jon or Richie knew how bad it sounded they would get it changed straight away... Why cant the sound engineers hear it, they do sit in the middle of the stadium and must realise Richie is playing his heart out and cant be heard. We all spend a small fourtune to follow them and instead of hoping they play rare songs or play for more than 2 hours, I turn up just hoping I can hear Richie play his guitar! Rant over....

You aren't the first to say something about the sound mix on here this week - however, from where I was in the gold circle at Coventry I heard him crystal clear. I didn't think the gig was particuarly loud but Richie's guitar sound was fine for me.

From where I was (towards the front of the GC), it sounded mostly OK, although occasionally the guitar was drowned out somewhat .... at the beginning of Lost Highway for example, I couldn't actually tell what they were playing until Jon started singing, cos I couldn't hear the lead guitar at all. I suppose it's partly going to depend where you are .... perhaps it sound fine from where the mixing desk is? Otherwise, I agree that they should have no problem changing the levels a little bit during the show

I guess everyone hears things differently, but I know if it was Brian May or Slash playing in the shows I have seen this week ,every note would be crystal clear. Some people I have spoken to think Jon is afraid Richie may make mistakes, after all he has been through, and that is the reason his playing is drowned out? Not sure about that myself but who knows. We all know how wat Jon says goes! This may be a one man crusade but I am going to get as many people to back wat im saying and try and get the message to the top of the organisation. Hopfully right up Jon and Richie. When we leave a concert we should be talking about how good it sounded not how bad, and its been like this for many tours now.

i could here richie most of the time last night in GC. The only problem sound wise for me was the mic seemed to make jon sound like alvin and the chipmunks sometimes! was fin for richie doing IBTFY onwards though, which meant DC sounded great

I was at the coventry gig up on the side at the top. The sound at points was good them terrible. Maybe the sound guys were playing with the settings.
But to me these guys are probably paid alot of money to do their job and should be skilled, if theyannt get it right sack em. The sound should be sorted at sound check.

Well, if that makes it through to Jon, I'm sure it will get sorted ASAP. I'm betting he hasn't been working on his voice hoping for that particular sound! LOL

yeah it definatly wasnt jons voice it was the mix it was quite funny when he did "this is a lil summing of the album new jersey" with that voice sound though. Thankfully sound was fine from IBTFY onwards.

Bad sound engenginneers should get fired!!! That's the worst thing! Hate when there's too much bass and drums. I had good sound my gig though.

Richie was drowned out for a few songs in Coventry.

Runaway and Blaze were the only two which had the perfect mix.

I was at a qotsa show a few months back and the guitar solos were drowned out too.

Very annoying
