The mix was pretty good for the most part where we were (at the middle-back of the GC). There were times the guitars were a bit quiet but 95% of the time, it seemed OK.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the mobile phone interference at the beginning of Hallelujah - somebody must have got a right bollocking for taking their phone on stage!

I though the sound on Sat. was better than Fri. too....didn't know if it was just me (people with me didn't notice it on Friday). Manc. had no problems for me. I'm not too hot on technical sound stuff in stadiums but from the number of comments on the board I'm suprised that people have had that many problems, is it normally hard to get the sound right.....it should really be looked into in their 'post-tour-review' if it has been as bad as people have been saying!

Here's another idea:

Stop playing stadiums.

Sometimes arenas aren't much better. When they did their 10 night stand at the new Prudential arena in Newark last fall - it took them a few nights to sort out all the sound issues. On night 1, I was very close to the stage with fanclub tickets - the only night I bought fanclub tickets for. The sound was horrible. It wound up depending on where in the arena you were that night - some people thought it was the best sound a new arena ever had

I sorta doubt that Bon Jovi would play anything smaller than a small arena at this stage of their career - which is too bad. I'd love to hear them at a club.

may I say something ? I'm a music producer and personally i thought the sound was quite good when I watched them in Lisbon in May.Richie's guitar isn't too loud these days (noticed that as well) and you can't argue with that. But i believe that's pretty much INTENTIONAL. I'm not saying I personally agree with such decision though. Perhaps they (ok... Jon) think(s) people want a softer, poppier version of Bon Jovi due to a lot of reasons. The main reason being everything they've released after New Jersey isn't metal oriented anymore. I don't know. just a guess.

Obviously, I've never worked anything even in the same universe as a gig like this, but being an aspiring sound engineer I can just add that often times acoustics are very fluid, and are almost impossible to "set" at any given time.

That's why I loved that Hammerstein show was such a special treat.
