Default Sorry guys! - Why they WONT play DryCounty this tour :>&g

Sorry to put a dampner on some peoples high spirits.. i know some people are making banners requesting this song and everything, but they just aint goona play it!
Firstly they havnt played it in ageees, heck, even Jon has trouble remembering some lyrics to far shorter songs that they havnt played in a while (id die 4 u, Lay ur hands).. and DryC is a 9minute epic with lots of lyrics, and musical changes etc. i.e its not your basic simple 3minute poprock song! If they were to play it theyd hav had to have been rehearsing it for a while now.. Then theres the big fact that Hughy has probably never even played it live before! It was back in the Alec days.. So they would HAVE HAD to rehearse it before now..and i havnt heard any rumours that they have been
THEN theres the issue of Jons voice.. its a demanding song vocally.. in the same boat as Always, and i doubt Jon would risk singing it this tour!
Sorry for bein negative..id love to see it live too! The guitar solo would ROCK (if Richie could remember it lol)

neway

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Everybody have said that Jon's voice is great at the moment, no doubt it is. He could remember the verses, if bothered to rehearse and learn.

They are all professionals. If they'd want to, they would (will!) do it.

Hugh has played in a dozens of concerts ('95-'96). He has probably been the one who has played it even on the cd version. Huey is likely to remember his part best... studio-musician backround.

But still, I'm amazed if they play it _ever_ again.

hugh had never played homebound train before either (unless the rumours of him recording it on the studio are true) but they played that

lyrics to DC aren't too hard and JBJ would just use a lyrics sheet anyway as he did in Ostend, and Dublin 2001, and all sorts of other shows

u make dry county sound like the band have no clue on who to play it which is just silly really. so wot if they havent played it in ages, they hadnt played id die for u in an age and still rocked it out - and i hardly think mr sambo could forget the solo...sorry but i find that pretty upsetting. and huey has played it enough times, heck he has been there since day one.
bon jovi are a band which lives on doing things spontanueos when on stage(more so b4 then now) so i see no problem in busting it out. and always is a far more demanding songs, it has more screams and jon has handled it mostly pretty well on this tour....sorry but i hate negativety...

dry county is quite easy to play... only about 5 chords

solo is just Dminor so you can make anything up - same with all the improv in the song... basic 4/4 drumming, root note bass... piano is chordal, lyrics would be only problem remembering and yet there you can have a lyrics sheet by the mic stand

IDFU had no rehearsals either... at most it will have just been a quick run through backstage or at the hotel or something prob using acoustic guitars or something

no soundcheck and they'd only played bremen 2 days earlier

That's right! I have the feeling that they really just don't want to play it anymore and I regret it too. Cause live it is even better than on the album, e.g. the version on the Dry County single is simply marvellous, especially the solo and the bit just after if you know what I mean, where Richie stops his guitar making the sound.

It seems the guys wanna play a rockshow nowadays with almost no epic or slow songs. The only they always play are Wanted and I'll be there for you. I think they should try to make it more diverse. We don't have to party the whole evening, I want the epic and dark songs back, not only Dry County, but also nearly all TD material, and Living in sin. That would be the "Bon Jovi, band with a message" again.

Thanks Tom, I agree - musicians are good at reality checks. Lyrics can be taped to the back of a guitar too!
