Default Special Olympics

Ok so the opening cermony for the special Olympics is on Saturday 21st of June.

No acts have been annouced for this or anything yet and Im wondering if BOn Jovi might be playing since they would be in Dublin anyway.

But wouldnt they have to announce it on the official site beforehand or something?

Just wondering.

This is what has been said so far:

Question:
Someone mentioned about if Bon Jovi is going to be involved with the Special Olympics this year...My questioned is, have they been involved with SO? If so, where at? Thanks! You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!
asked by on Monday, June 9
Answer:
Over the years the band, especially Jon, has been very active with Special Olympics. Bon Jovi contributed the live track 'Back Door Santa' for the first ever VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS charity CD. On subsequent pressings of the album, the song I WISH EVERYDAY COULD BE LIKE CHRISTMAS was included instead. For A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS 2, Jon contributed the song PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS and filmed a video (directed by Herb Ritts) with Cindy Crawford for the song. Jon has over the years performed at The White House for Special Olympics charity concerts (and those live performances were included in subsequent VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS albums.) Jon has sat on the board of the music special events and was at the helm of both White House concerts overseeing the entire affair. He's very close friends with Bobby Shriver, who heads up the Very Special Christmas branch of Special Olympics. Jon attended the 1999 International Games in North Carolina where he walked into the stadium during the Opening Ceremonies with the delegation of athletes from New Jersey and then attended some of the athletic competitions. It is expected that Jon and possibly other band members would be involved in the International Games for the Special Olympics this year as it is taking place in Dublin, Ireland at the same time the band will be on tour in Ireland and the UK however, no information has been released with regards to how the band might be involved.

Jon is going to be at the Special olympics opening ceremony!! I don't think he or the band will be preforming though. U2 and The Corrs are a couple of the bands who will be playing. I've tried to get tickets for it through my Dad and his company but no such luck - Its completely sold out! Think I'll go up anyway - if Im not totally hung over after the gig on Friday!!

My dad was offered six tickets but I thought only Westlife and all that crap was playing! Oh, if I'd only known then, what I do now... I'd be a happy girly indeed. Bugger

And I doubt theres much chance of us finding him if we stand outside. I mean with the 50,000 people who will be there.

Oh well, I think I'll try my luck anyway

I think maybe they might be staying in the Merrion Hotel off Stephens Green?! Thats where Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band stayed when they were here 3 weeks ago. Its a possibility!
