He had his framptone there. I saw it. It wasn't prerecorded. Plus--I recorded the show so I could see it again. I just looked again and yes, he has it there. He was doing the parts during the song.

Does anyone have a copy/link of the Daytona performance you can share here? I missed it today.

They sounded pretty good. It will probably sell a few more albums but I wouldn't expect to see a small bounce until the following week.

I might be wrong but I think maybe they sang live to a prerecorded live backing track. Anybody else or am I hallucinating.

I have watched it over and over now...if they did I could not tell it. In fact, I could find some definite differences during the "breaks" in the songs from the studio versions:

* The "voicebox solo" in "It's My Life" was shorter. In fact, the lines
"Better stand tall when they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break, baby, don't back down "
Are not there at all!

* The "oohhhh" after the short drum "interlude" in "Have a Nice Day" was not the same as the album version

However, I don't know for sure. I also tried to watch and see if I kept hearing Jon's voice even after his mic was down, but I didn't. What I noticed during the Greenville, SC show was that David backs up Jon a LOT and sings his little heart out.

Maybe they did use a backing track, because it IS the Daytona 500 and they want things "just so" but I don't think so. However, I don't know for sure even after watching a pile of times.

I really don't think so - having heard those songs so many times Jon's voice sounded different. In my opinion he was not quite as strong as I've heard him either. I must admit it never occurred to me that there was a backing track.

One thing that both my husband and I noticed is that all band members seemed to look a lot younger. More makeup or the magic of television? Or both? I won't even suggest clean living LOL.

I just rewatched it with my brother~ it was definitely live.

As for Richie and Jennifer hooking up.. not likely~ I believe she is married.

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I doubt they're actually going to hook up but she often seems a bit enamored with Richie

which just adds to my theory that everyone wants to do Richie
