All things happen for reason--not out of the clear blue. There was a reason it was a Jon and friends show. What it was, I don't know. I was throwing potential possibilities out there. But one if one of them did have a problem with the charge? Do you really think that would come out in public? The answer is no.

I agree that most fan club stuff does deal with Jon and the club bears his name. Ironically, fans still expect Richie, Tico and David to be involved which is why this thread was started in the first place.

To be honest, that isnt why i started the thread - i understand perfectly well (and i do not have to have kathleen explain it to me in the most remedial post of all time that it was advertised as jbj and friends and had no expectation at all that any band member would be there.

It came up bc that inside guy said the band was suppposed to be the surprise. thats what got me thinking like terri that wow - i never really thought abt it but at this point i would take that show over a standard jovi show...something we both thought we would never in a million think...

Calm down for a sec. I wasn't trying to put any words in your mouth. I didn't say you said anything. What I'm saying is that that vibe seems to often permeate, especially with discussions regarding the fan club is that Jon is money grubbing loon, but that the other band members aren't. Call me cynical, but I think that's an incredibly naive take for people to have. I'll spell everything out clearer in the future, so as not step on anyone's toes.
As for fans expecting the whole band, I'm sorry but I'm really not going to feel any pity or anything for them (And I know you never said I should, I'm just saying it) Backstage (as overpriced and pointless as I think it is) is always advertised as dealing with Jon. He's the only focus of the FC merchandise, and most if not all fan club events deal soley with him.

I don't like much of Jon's solo stuff at all. So while I appreciate the effort he put into making the night special for those who attended, I wouldn't have gotten the same enjoyment out of it as those who went or those who enjoy his solo shit.

As for the band not being there, I have no problem with it. It was a "JBJ and friends" show. If it was advertised otherwise, I would have had a problem with it. I think the far more intersting question is why wasn't it a band fanclub show? Did Richie, Tico or David think the ticket price was outrageous and not worth supporting? Did Jon want to perform this show solo?
Guess you like that Richie solo shit hey??? (so do I actually) but love Jons as well.

As for the others theres always this underlying assumption that they are being held back or stopped from doing things. As to why they didn't go.. best to ask them. I mean did they think they were too good for it?? Did they not get asked. Was Jon thinking hell give them a break and I will do it. Kick their asses if you want them involved in stuff.

Oh and I would of taken this rare show over a GH band show. I love the solo stuff and its not often you get to hear it. That said I would of taken the same with Richie over a GH band show.

Yes, I was merely just posing ideas as to why it might have been a Jon and friends show and I guess in the end I couldn't care to know the reason why it wasn't a band fan club show. I was never implying the others were being held back and such (in this case). I say this case because I do think there are other times where Jon does hold the band back and I don't think the band is as much of a Democracy as some people on here seem to think but that's quite off topic. Before the Jon lovers get all defensive, I will be quick to point out that there has been a few instances where Richie has held the band back ie. the entire HAND tour suffered because of his drinking.

Easy question - a band show.
