I feel for you Aussies and Kiwis, Shaz. I gripe because they don't play in this region of the country, but they won't even play in your hemisphere... there's perspective.

Becky
Thanks Becky...we'll keep our fingers crossed for your neck of the woods...you guys keep em crossed for us. There seriously is not a lot more the fans here can do....we honestly support them heaps here...from emailing radio stations, to petitions, to buying the cd's, to crazy people like me handwriting 'please' 25,000 times to get SIIS played on radio here...people keep telling us 'it's so far away for them to come'....they forget when they say that, the reverse is just as true...bloody long way for aussies to travel EVERY time they want to see the band live [and one party in that equation has a LOT of $...and it ain't the aussie fans]

I don't really feel anyone has a right to complain. You buy the cd's, you buy the merchandise, you go to see shows, you are paying for something specific, not a part of that band or a say in what they do.
I don't mean to be rude Thomas, but you live in the UK, yes?....perhaps if you lived here, where the band has not toured since 1995, instead of a country where they have never NOT toured, you'd be somewhat more sympathetic to those of us who 'complain'....'you go see the shows'...to whom is that part of your post directed?...surely not to the aussies or the kiwis.
I've never been to a show, just because I live in a country they play every time doesn't mean I could be any less sympathetic.

They can do what they like, obviously they do, I just mean that even people who live in countries they don't play anymore, well complaining doesn't do anything, petitions don't do anything. You can wait for new tour dates to be released and hope, but if not, like Becky said, it isn't the end of the world.

True Thomas, true...all I'm saying is that people do infact have a right to 'complain'..or whatever word anyone cares to use to describe it....No BJ = no BJ fans...conversely - NO Fans = no BJ....we have a 'vested' interest...if we [the aussies] complain and they had included us on every tour up til now, anyone/everyone could tell us to get nicked...when it's becoming the norm [no tour] rather than the exception - well, I think we have grounds to complain. As for petitions...they do work... not the internet type ones - the ones that radio stations etc., put together...the 'old' fashioned ones...they do work.
And for the record, I hope you get to see your first Jovi show this time round.

I totally get what you're saying. Sometimes I feel like you have to be rich to be a Bon Jovi fan, at least the type who gets to go to their concerts.

There's bound to be a few megadraws here before then..tell you what...if I win a big one [quite apart from the fact that I'd need to go have a lie down for oh, about a month], I'll shout you...take you even, to any BJ show you want to go to.
Better hope I win one Becky...I only ever say what I mean, and mean what I say.

Had I been at the listening party and had the opportunity to ask Jon a question it would have been:
"Do you and/or the band suffer from equatophobia?" [the fear of passing over the equator from north to south]
Oh...and before anyone starts with the 'it's too far away... it cost so much to take a tour downunder...if the Cd does well, maybe they'll tour there' stuff - just as I have no insight specifically into what exactly it costs to bring a tour here, people not living in Oz do not appreciate the fact that many big name acts DO come here ['03 The Stones, Springsteen, - '04 Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles], and that BJ do phenomenally well here...from NJ through to Crush, all those albums debuted at no. 1, despite the fact that the band had not toured here since '95.....Bounce may have debuted at No. 1 instead of No. 4, but went head to head with the Elvis album. It's going to be hard for the album to do well here when the band have not been here [please do not include the Universal Appeal gig or worse still, Rumba] into the BJ tour history of Oz....I think even the band wonder why they did Rumba.

Stands up an applaudes - thank you- that is exactly what I wanted to say. I tried putting it into words, but you got it in one.
