Fingers crossed. Although, i do think that it will be the Greatest Hits that will be the first album out.

I think this record release time frame will have to do with the economy. If the economy here in the US picks up over the summer and starts to right itself we will probably get the record late Oct/Nov like we did LH.
If it looks like it will be 2010 before the economy rights itself a bit then the new record will get held back till April/May and we will get a GH with new songs, the doc and book in the fall.
If the release is spring my guess is the tour will start overseas and we will get the late summer fall of 2010 here in the US.
Jon isn't dumb. He's not going to put up a world tour and a record in the middle of an economic downturn, when people just don't have the money to go to shows. They had the number one tour in the world last time out, he's not going to play to half full arenas etc... because of a bad economy.

Oh, I think BJ could sell out shows as long as they keep ticket prices reasonable and not let TM screw around like they did with the Bruce tix. People love going to their shows, not getting ripped off.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, except that LH came out in June. Of course, if one can judge from the Vegas and Summerfest ticket sales, Jovi's still doing just fine.

But LH was released in the summer ...

Apart from that though, that sounds plausible. I wonder when the GH would be released in the first scenario though?

No doubt.

I remember vividly, because the money I spent on LH was the first I'd ever spent on Bon Jovi. Hard to believe it hasn't even been 2 years yet! LOL
