The only songs there that would irk me are The Last Night, and Twist and Shout. I've come to accept Sleep..., but The Last Night bores me, and Twist and Shout is just a space filler, IMO. The rest of the set looks good though.
But, I hate Prayer as an opener. That deserves to be in an encore, or at least end a main set.

Although I didn't attend last night, I bet some in the audience were at least thrilled it was played! My first Bon Jovi show was at the Marcus in 2001 and suspiciously Prayer wasn't included anywhere in the show. I still don't know of any other full-length shows where that was the case.

However, we did get an surprise version of full-electric Always at a time when that was working it's way off more and more setlists. Since I've heard Prayer many times since, I appreciated the substutution

You tell the truth. I did a review for that show on this very website. I was crushed when they didn't play it. my wife was happy for the same reason you were....they played Always.

Like I said earlier in this thread, it was a good show just a little on the too mellow side for me. Even though the crowd goes nuts when they play Twist and Shout or Shout I want to see Bon Jovi songs.
Also, I believe they played 6-7 of the new songs so they are certainly promoting that heavy. They could have done 2-3 more Bon Jovi tunes and I would have been happy and we would had more than 19 songs, 16 if you count Bon Jovi songs (I believe).
The highlight was Richie..he was really into it and looked good. He and Jon actually shadow boxed with each other when they were doing the intro's toward the end of the show. That was funny. Plus Richie was doing some extra hip-thrusts as well and that cracked me up.

The stage at Marcus is not set up to be good for crowd interaction it wasn't in 2001 either. Jon didn't lack energy he was just limited by a smaller stage and having so many damn people on the stage. I thought We got it Goin on was a solid song live and can be a good opener for the regular tour.
No good old power ballads were missed as well, I wanted IBTFU or Always or Never Say Goodbye.

Like I said good show average song list but I will still be there when they go on tour.

Thanks for all your reviews.

One questions, Any other day was played but nobody has mentioned about Richie's solo at the end of the song, did he go into one or was it just a short solo,

I was kinda hoping the version they did at the o2 would be the same throughout the one off shows and hopefully carry on until the main tour.

It appeared to be alot of peoples highlights of the o2 show but nobody has singled this song out from this concert which makes me think it was a small solo at the end.

Cheers

Rich

He did do a long solo at the end, it was fine. I didn't put it into my top of the show review but it was good.
That being said, Richie was great for the entire show, so maybe that is why it didn't stand out too much.

I was at the show and I thought it was great. Now, I was 2nd row center so I have a different perspective. I could see every facial expression, shaking, dancing, Richie faces, etc. I thought Jon's energy was great. The Marcus stage is fairly small so....and he reached out on both ends of the stage and touched hands of fans a few times. So, I thought the crowd intereaction was fine. I did hear that the sound in the back sections was very hit and miss.

For a non tour show, I thought the length was appropriate. I thought the crowd was great. Also, Marcus keeps them to a tight schedule. Originally they were scheduled to go on at 9 and finish at 11 so it was never going to be more than 2 hours. I saw the setlist and HAND was an audible along with BOR and KTF.

Was there a solo during 'The Last Night'? I read somethin at crushmag -
"In the end they included a single one of Richie that lasts almost 2 minutes" (thru Google translator )

I attended the Milwaukee show. The band sounded tight, and Jon was in pretty good voice. But, It was not a high energy show. Some folks in the FC seats probably thought it was more exciting, because although Jon didnt run around much, he did shake his ass alot. People in my area for the most part were not into the new LH stuff much. I went hoping I'd like Lost Highway better live - I didn't. Any Other Day was a snooze until Richie's solo.

Jon's rendition of Hallelujah was less than inspiring, and over dramatized. (eyes to heaven, er.. well the roof, and arms raised) It seemed a really odd cover choice.
Not a memorable show for me.

"Any Other Day was a snooze until Richie's solo."

I would agree with that assessment but Richie's solo was wonderful and very long. He really got into it.

I was sixth row, directly in the center, so I got a good view of all the hip-shaking, etc, but it was hard to hear what Jon was saying between songs. We missed quite a bit of that because of the sound system. "Twist and Shout" really blew the roof off the place at the end. The Journal/Sentinel review was quite good although they made a mistake about the cowboy boots. They aren't known for good or accurate reviews.

I was at the show in 2001 and was surprised not to hear LOAP although I didn't miss it. In addition to Always, we got I'll Be There For You, if I remember correctly. My seats weren't as good that time.

It was an excellent show this time around and I'm hoping they'll be back here on the tour in 2008.
