Well, if Wikipedia is to be believed:

Quote:
"Bollocks" is a word of Anglo Saxon origin, meaning "testicles". The word is often used figuratively in English, as a noun to mean "nonsense" or conversely to mean "top quality" or "perfection", an expletive following a minor accident or misfortune, and an adjective to mean "poor quality" or "useless". In this respect, the term could be said to be a contranym. Similarly, the common phrases "Bollocks to that!" or "That's a load of old bollocks" express a distaste for a certain task, subject or opinion; "the dog's bollocks" expresses the opposite, namely admiration, pleasure or approval.
Anyway, thanks for the review Seb.

That's probably because you're not a native speaker as well.

And yeah, I spot the difference in the setlists: no LH songs back then.
Right, BTR?

June 27th is my birthday and Jon knows that so they will give a good show, especially because Jon knows my brother will be in the audience, so don't worry

I salute you,

Actually, I shouldn't bother with you, 'cause you know very well what I meant and Kev will sort you out soon, but well...

- Leipzig and Vienna were not in a row
- half an hour longer was not the every night standard
- more rare gems YOU like, now we have 4 more studio records and a boxset, the definition of gem has changed
- there's a fiddle, right - well, it's part of the concept this tour, hate it all you want
- LH as opener - it's not like they are unable to change it, the don't want to - again, hate it all you want
- NEVER had every show on a tour been massive, there'd been nights in the late 80s, where he could barely sing at all
- I asked folks from Leipzig - not true die-hards - but the majority is still blown away with a 2008 BJ show
- better in 1996? yeah! so what? SO WHAT???

Excellent review. My rational mind tells me that it's stupid to get excited about a show 6000 miles away. My emotions insist on getting excited anyway - maybe because I'm hoping that will mean a good show here when they return to the US. It's just been so nice to to see and hear some shows of this caliber again. The way the past few tours went I would have said that Jon was incapable of these vocals - it's nice to be wrong.

And this tour has the added benefit of almost instant gratification. Within hours there is usually some clip up on YouTube (however horrible) so that we can see what we missed

I got all of that, plus a bar literally around the corner, so some of the 'hits' (Cap Crash, WSYCGH) became a beer break for me, first time ever! Helped things long nicely, though, it did!
