just got my tickets and on them they said

an evening with
Bon Jovi

on both Calgary and Winnipeg shows. that usually implies no support act.

I know I mentioned Black Stone Cherry...but I hope they do this in Europe (they won't).

The 4 times i've seen Jovi the opening acts were The Goo Good Dolls, twice, a local band that won a contest, and Kid Rock. The Goo Goo Dolls were by far my favorite, but then i'm a big fan of there's. Some of their opening act selections though are very questionable

Rival Sons would actually be the perfect choice. Great, great live act. And a pretty realistic pick, too. (Although I doubt that the guys in the band are Bon Jovi fans.)

What am awesome line up that would be. Could be glorious. Proper rock music and not some beards blokes in waistcoats pretending not to be indie.
there is no way Jon will want to be associated with these sort of bands. Bon Jovi's been heading in a totally different direction for about 2 decades. it would be nice, but it's not happening. i don't mind indie bands at all, what i mind is local contest winners no one will hear of ever again. it's nice for the bands in question, but a total snoozefest for the audience, more often than not.

Just read that the Gaslight Anthem are already lining up UK festivals for next Summer so would be nice to see them open up for the Jovi.

That being said, we'll probably end up with some shit they've found on gumtree.

First time I saw them they had GUN and Skunk Anansie (who went onto close the main stage at Glastonbury one year...)

Last time they had those guys doing the dodgy jive stuff that no one had or has heard of since and a local band that won a competition :-/

Not according to this interview. Says they don't NOT like Bon Jovi, but only really love the hits.
