As we say here in the American south, bless their hearts, they were awful. (You're allowed to say anything ugly about someone as long as you say "bless his/her/their heart(s)" first. Makes it sound nicer somehow.) I'll admit that I've been known to listen to country music . . . real country music. Not something that belongs in a carnival sideshow. The sad thing is, I think at least one of them (I refuse to try to figure out who is who) is probably fairly talented. I guess this garbage makes more money.

I was at the Oct. 28th show, and I swear that Jon said on stage that BJ was taking them to Europe this summer. I know that I've read it in online newspaper stories (regular daily papers, not music rags). If it is true, you have my condolences. I was SO relieved to hear that we wouldn't be getting them here in Atlanta. I was afraid BJ would think it was a good idea to bring them along on the southern swing of the U.S. tour.

Default what?

Can't understand the Big and Rich hatred. I'm English but I've been a fan of them for about 3-4 years now and this is why:

1. They may be 'country' but I hear Aerosmith, Kiss, Bon Jovi and lots more classic rock in their sound.
2. Their live shows are what us rock fans should be dying to see. Full of fun, energy, lights and pyros. The 1980's anyone?
3. I love their 'come one, come all' ethos. As rock fans who are marginalised by society and the mainstream we should support their 'love everybody' ethos.

I would to know how many people on here who are going off on one about them have actually sat down and listened to an album of theirs from beginning to end or have seen live footage.

At the end of the day you can't change people's minds or their prejudices but I can assure you if B&R do come to Europe it will be better than most support bands I have seen with Bon Jovi and I've been on every tour since the Sheffield City Hall 'Slippery' show in 1986.

(with the exception of the mercurial Dan Reed Network who were awesome in '89)

I mean - Joan Osbourne? Goldspot? Vixen? The Manics? Talk about a mixture of dross and misplaced bands.

True.... Live were pretty poor at the gigs, although I bought one of their earlier albums, called Throwing Copper, and love it!

Live were immense. I was a fan before i saw them supporting BJ, and can understand why some people werent too crazy about them, they were heavily promoting Birds of Prey in the set - not their best album by any means.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."
