Ten Most Annoying Concert Behaviors

The article doesn't mention Jovi, but since the discussion will turn to Jovi concerts, I put it in this forum.

What do you find most annoying at shows? These are all good ones, but for me, it's the people who walk in and out of the row 250 times to go get beer. Leave me the hell alone while I'm trying to watch the show. If you just want to drink, there's a bar across the street and their beer is cheaper.

Well, about the Yahoo! list:

1. "Taking pictures the entire show". Doesn't annoy me that much, I'd rather be rocking and having fun, but it's not like the flashes affect me or anything.
2. "Checking e-mail, Facebook and Twitter every couple of minutes". This is idiotic. Why the **** people pay a ticket to go use their phones? They should be kicked out of the stadium.
3. "Incessantly talking to your friends". I HATE THIS. HOPE THEY ****ING DIE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ****ING SONG, SHUT THE **** UP AND LISTEN.
4. "Yelling out requests". This doesn't annoy me, at least the shout has a point. What I hate are those girls that shout "AAAAAAAH" and make my ears bleed. When they do that, I wish I had a female ID so I could punch them in the face without going into jail.
5. "Yelling out "Freebird!"". I don't get this one.
6. "Pushing your way to the front". I've done that. Survival of the strongest.
7. "Getting so drunk you puke". I don't see the point in this. Why do people drink at gigs? It's not a party.
8. "Loudly complaining after the show because the band didn't play your favorite song". Why is this annoying? I've never done it, but it doesn't bother me.
9. "Filming the entire show on your iPhone". It's nice to have footage, but I don't see the point of people doing it when the show is being streamed or on TV. It's pointless.
10. "Yelling "Sit down!" at people who are standing up". Never happenned to me, but if you shout that to me in a ****ing rock concert, I hope you're sitted down because you have your legs broken, or I'm breaking them for you. Going to a concert to stay sitted. For god's sake.

What annoys me the most:

1. Casuals that are just standing there on the VIP, doesn't know a single song and are with a "wtf am i doing here" face. Dude, really, why are you here?
2. People that go to gigs drunk and try to pull out a fight.
3. Girls that shout... well, like a girl. There're lots of giant speakers and I can still hear your shouts. And they make my ears bleed.
4. People that go there to chat and talk. No, dude. Because of this kind of people artists don't play some songs. Show some ****ing respect for the people that's performing.
5. People that smoke, specially weed. It's hot, it's smelly because there's a lot of people together. Please don't add smoke to the equation. ****, that's even ilegal!
6. Shirtless dudes. Man, you're fat, you're hairy, you're really sweating. I don't like having my face or arms smashed into your naked torso while we're jumping.

I find Americans the most annoying during a concert.

There, now that we've covered that, I agree with Becky. Most of the frustrations put in that post are ones I agree with when it comes to the shows I visited in America but not so much over here in Europe, apart from the people getting drinks all the time, which seems to get worse as well over here. As for the rest, you won't find most of what's covered in that article in Europe or Canada. The sit down thing they're talking about happened to me in Radio City Music Hall, where even the ushers were telling us to sit down because I was blocking the view of the people behind me.

The thing that's started to bother me most during Bon Jovi shows in Europe is the people buying the expensive GC ticket to make sure they're up front, despite not having any idea why they want to be up front as they're too busy being occupied with anything but the music. Ever since the GC/DC and all of that was introduced here crowd participation up front has gone down a lot with too many "rich" folks buying the expensive ticket because they can, as opposed to because they actually care.

This is my number one gripe at any show (including Broadway shows - yes they do it there too). I drink myself so it has nothing to do with me hating alcohol but I am there to see the show - not get smashed. It's far cheaper to stay home and get smashed if that's what I want to do.

My second biggest gripe are the women that constantly scream in a high pitched voice during the entire concert. They certainly are not hearing the music that they paid big bucks to hear. I understand singing along, sometimes it's impossible not to sing along but just to scream continually - no, please just STFU.

I get annoyed at people who get annoyed at all the above.

Just go with the flow and have a good time. Without all those little nuances, it's not a concert.

PS I'm the dude who is constantly getting beer so until they come up with a better system, deal with it! lol. Keep in mind; I am paying big bucks for those beers so I should have the right away. For every 2 beers, I could be buying an official t-shit instead....

talking. mostly during the rarities. really annoyed me all the talking when never say goodbye and dry county was played in dublin last tour.

I saw Rush at Radio City Music Hall. The ushers kept shining lights in our faces and telling us to sit down -- until Geddy Lee told them to knock it off!

I don't care if people spend time on their phones during the concert. I remember in 2010 at Jovi when they started playing Lost Highway, I whipped out my phone and started fiddling with it. Then I messed around with my camera. Even watching grass grow would have better than being forced to listen to that crap.

People who push their way to the front shit me. Like the person who write the article says, the people at the front got there early and laid claim to their spots at the front. Don't push in, if you wanted to be up the front, you should have arrived earlier!

Depending on the concert, where it is located, etc, if you are given a seat to sit in, damn well sit in it! There is nothing worse than trying to see a performance when some nitwit in front of you is standing on his chair pumping his fists. Sit the hell down and let me see, because I paid good money to see this concert, too! I wouldn't expect anyone to sit at a BJJ concert though, for obvious reasons.

Also...people who spend a good hour before the concert telling people what a huge fan of the band they are, yet they don't even know the words to any songs, but try to sing along anyway and just end up looking like a moron.

Banners. Nuff said. I want to see a performance, I don't want to see a freaking banner blocking my vision. Do that and I'll rip the bloody thing to shreds.

This doesn't really affect me - but I hate people who turn up late. I mean, really late, like a good 30 mins after the concert has begun. I would think that if you paid money to see the concert, why wouldn't you make sure you were there in plenty of time? Don't walk in 30 minutes late and demand to know which songs you have missed, and pitch a fit because you missed your 'favorite' song which you probably don't even know the words to.

Rock & roll!

1. People bringing beer to the mosh pit, drop it and make for a slippery floor
2. People who can't keep their ellbows down in a pit
3. People who bitch about getting pushed around when they're in front of the stage.
4. People being all sour if you move past them at a GA show. The whole room's gonna move any... actually, hold that one:
5. People who can't be bothered to move at all during the show.

On BJ shows, when the audience is asked to sing Wanted, and we get to the start of the chorus, there always seems to be a woman near me who sings Richie's backing vocals of Wanted into my ear - at the first point where it doesn't belong. But maybe that's just me
