And, simple lyrics don't automatically make something a shit pop song.
I'm not speaking for millions of people. Just ask anyone over 30 what they think of Bon Jovi here. Just ask.

And It's My Life is a pop song, and considered shit by most fans over 30. It's just a fact you can't deny. Just because it made you a fan doesn't mean that it made everyone a fan. In America it might be different, but in Europe It's My Life was big among teenagers, but small among grown ups. Once the novelty wore off many people were bored by it.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

have to agree im 16 and its my life has lost its edge with me. I still like the song occasionally but to be honest i prefer OWN and 2 story town on crush. LOAP and crossroads won me over couple of years back anyway

I would think that reason wouldnt be down to the quality, but anyone 30+ would have at least heard of and more likely bought an album through the hype of Slippery,NJ,KTF or Crossroad. By then, anyone of that age range who would have liked Bon Jovi would have bought an album by then.

I think that's right.

C'mon, let's be honest, It's My Life is basically a re-make of Prayer for a different decade. No-one here is slagging off Prayer, but the lyrics for that aren't any better, or much different from It's My Life.

That's the main reason I don't like it. But have to say, the first time I did hear it come on the radio after 4 years of no Bon Jovi. I loved it!

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
IML didn't make me a fan.
I'd heard it somewhat, but the first albums I got were "Slippery When Wet" and "One Wild Night" on the same day in August of 2001. I didn't get Crush until April of '02, and I hate the version of IML on OWN. If any song on Crush had anything to do with "making" me a fan, it's "Say It Isn't So".
