indeed
i give people more credit than that

i'm always saying the same thing - but all that was different in terms of the setlist between huddersfield and milton keynes other than 1 or 2 songs was the actual order the songs were played in and the quality of the performance itself

a bad show is a bad show

just as a good show is a good show

if i got a typical US show in terms of the setlists but got perfect performances of each song i'd be happy

if i don't get perfection but also that setlist i'll be a little unhappy

Aloha !

About the comment that some bands do not even change the setlist the entire too, well let's take Oasis, the friends of letitrock :P They never change anything about the setlist but they include at least 2 songs they didn't play the last 2 tours. Like on the last tour they played Columbia, a song that hasn't been played the last 3 or 4 tours. It's the same as Bon Jovi did during the OWN tour with bringing Raise Your Hands back on the setlist. Not even that is happening now.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I think BJ basically gear their setlists for the casual fan. I also think that 'These Days' rocked Jon because it was his most personal and creative record and yet it bombed. Ask any dedicated BJ fan and they will wax lyrical about what a great CD it is but ask any casual fan and they will go'Huh?'. It's since the 'These Days' tour that BJ have metamorphasised into this 'party rock' band - almost as if Jon said 'Well, I beared my soul, you didn't like it, so I've only got one thing to say, Is there a doctor in the house?!'
Sorry for bringing this thread to life again, but this james' post is inside my head for ages and it speaks the very truth IMO. Glad that I found this out.

Also, I guess the subject of the thread is still (sadly) very current.
