efpg0708's highlight #2
Key Arena, Seattle, 02/19/2010
As I said before, the songs from the first albuns were a shock for every die hard, but it was kind of expected, since the band also played them in Hawaii.
But for me, despite the crazy songs they played this tour (Santa Fe, Mystery Train ...), the Circle Tour will always be associated with Richie Sambora's rendition of Homebound Train. It's not a song that I love, but it suited him perfectly. I remember Jon saying: "Richie Sambora is going to sing you a song" and I thought" Here comes IBTFY again ... But no: "this is something from the album New Jersey that Richie has never sung before: It's called Homebound Train". It's a shame that the casuals didn't seem to appreciate it, hence the song being dropped in favor of Lay your hands on me.
Here's a video of the song (performed the night after)
Another jaw-dropping moment was when the full band joined Jon in the circle and I heard the chords of Something for the Pain. It's a great song from a magnificent album, and the acoustic version is nothing short of spectacular. Whenever I hear someone talking about the Circle Tour, this songs will always come to mind. Truly great !
Here's a proshot of the song as it was performed at the NMS.
Cheers
