Okay
1. I didn't say you disliked it nor even that I disliked it. I said that by most peoples standards it was a great show (It was, I had a great time) but by Bon Jovi standards it was their worst show that I had seen. I apologise if you think I misrepresented what you said but I got the impression that this wasn't your favourite Jovi show and I was just pointing out that it wasn't mine either.
2. I don't know what the average set length was on the tour as I only went to that show. It could be that my memory of the night has become distorted in the past two and a half years but the set felt shorter than previous tours. I distinctly remember checking my watch when I came out and thinking it was shorter than usual. They then played a much longer set in London.
3. Again I didn't go to the rest of the Bounce tour so I can only comment on his voice at this show and compare it to previous tours. It was rough and was made to look more so when Richie Sambora sang IBTFY superbly.
4. Sorry, is JBJ one of the worlds foremost standup comedians? The guy's a brilliant performer but not a comedian, therefore I don't feel it is a reflection on my sense of humour (or lack of) that I didn't find his lame joke funny. It was just plain embarrassing. I normally quite like his cheeseball speeches, he did a really good one at Maine Road I think it was where he was saying how the factory chimneys reminded him of growing up in New Jersey. I think it was as an intro to These Days and it worked really well, an emotional high point of the show.
5. I wouldn't say either totally sucked but they were just not as good as I hoped. I think Bounce may have done better a bit later in the show when everyone was warmed up and it had gone dark. I always find it a little difficult to get into the show when it's still light.
All in all it was a good show, just not as good as previous tours. The general consensus on this board seems to reflect that aswell for the whole tour.
I'm back at Manchester this summer so we can compare notes on here after the show.
