I listened to the new album and didnt like it. Just because I didnt like how I was treated doesnt make me like or dislike music (apart from the second house song because it is the opposite of what I experienced) if Jovi would do meet-and -greets in between tours or during tours just for fans and for free I wouldn't complain about it. But
Jon doesnt need to make me happy, I really liked the idea of the SK and the foundation and I do believe that there is some meaning and good will behind it and I am glad that it helps other people. I would do the same if I were Jon...but the whole hype behind it is exaggerated.
If Jovi would give free concerts in between as part of free music festivals, I wouldn't complain about this either. Not on regular basis but as an act of appreciation.

Why should ANY of us do our job for free? I don't go around giving psychological tests for free unless it's as favors to close friends. I don't go up to a doctor and ask them for a free diagnosis on the street either. That would be rude. You don't get to dictate to Jon or anyone else what THEY should do for FREE with their professional/marketable skills.

I am not saying Jon and the band should do a whole tour for free. But they have got paying fan club members...why not do 2-3 concerts every year where people can win tickets and have a q & a afterwards? They do it for overpriced events, why not give something back to their most loyal fans? They did it with the central park concert too back then, didn't they?
If Jon loves to write songs and sing them why not share 'his art' with the people who supported him for decades?

And I work voluntarely for an organisation where I give trainings / do assessements every now and then in the field of my degree without getting paid, because I enjoy to work with others and do something for others without getting money out of it.

They did a few "busks" back in 1995 in the USA and Europe and they do shows in the streets of NYC like Today and GMA that fans can see for free. However, if they did the type of thing you're talking about it would simply lead to more bitching because it wasn't in the right part of the world or it was too hard too win tickets. Someone will always find something to complain about.

But they did it. Jon also did fan club shows where he didnt charge 1500 bucks. Then he would show that he 1) cares for the fans and 2) is in it for the music and not just for the business.

The busks caused major security problems, shut down traffic, and were nightmares for anyone not interested in attending. Things like that aren't practical. If you want to see the band for free turn on The Tonight Show. But I'm sure you'll find a reason to complain about that too.

Where you reading what I wrote? I wasnt talking about me, I was talking about fans in general. Playing a small club/ hall and giving free tickets away would not cause problems. Neither would a fan club event where you make people meet the band. It is not THAT HARD. I know this would never happen but should to show that you are actually interested in connecting with people and like your music.

It probably won't happen. Not THAT many bands/acts do it and BJ have in the past which you've said yourself.

Accept it and move on.

I try to but the whole business side devalues my enjoyment of the shows. Jon treats it as a business and maximizes profits without any shame and still talks about l0oyalty and integrity .....while charging 1500 bucks for a pic and a concert.

But you are right....I have to move on,I am just really bad at it (as you might imagine)

After seeing the pricing packages for US shows (in particular those where you pay for unnecessary extras like taking your seat home too) and the ever expanding Gold Circle and introduction of Platinum Circle for UK stadium shows it's hard not to feel cynical about the JBJ way. The fact he positions himself so clearly in the organization of it all doesn't help at times. The burden of the business and the fact the band are contracted to him only makes JBJ the focal point of the increases and expenses the fan base are faced with. I think tbh that when you control so much that rather than claiming extra pieces of the pie it isn't unreasonable to expect better value.
