Back at the 2006 Foxboro, MA Gillette Stadium Jovi show - I had made (for myself) a NE Patriots football jersey, with 06 for the number, and BON JOVI for the name. I am a HUGE Pats fan, and Gillette is like my second home, so I figured it would be a much better souvenir than just a regular ole tour shirt. I was also excited because I finally had a jersey that I wouldn't have to worry about the player getting injured, traded, or lost to free agency - I've lost too many jerseys that way! I thought, at least I would always have my Jovi 06 Pats jersey!
At the show, we were in the GA section, and when Jon came out on the catwalk during Raise Your Hands - I said to my friend's mom, "I should take my jersey off and hold it up - maybe Jon will stop by us!" My friend's mom encouraged me, so as I was taking it off (thankfully, I also had on a tank top) it was like out of a movie - I got stuck in the shirt! My friend's mom is untangling me, I was laughing so hard, it made it 10x worse! My friend is screaming for me to hurry up because Jon was almost by us - and then I get if off - held it up - and Jon saw it immediately and stopped, smiling really big. Then he motioned for me to throw it up, so of course I did - and then he put it on and ran off down the catwalk again! I was SO EXCITED! The roar of the crowd in the stadium was amazing, and there we were on the field where my boys play! Both of my favoritest favorites coming together like that - very amazing moment for me. So my jersey, that I thought I could wear forever - it was suddenly gone forever! LOL! But so worth it! Someone got a quick clip - I only wish it had captured more of the crowds reaction, but this is what happened:
We talked enough about football that he laughingly said, "You really do love your football, huh?" I think I must've caught him off guard. He probably just assumed I was wearing the Soul shirt just to wear it, not because I was actually a fan. We also talked about Boston, and joked about my mom always threatening to take down my Jovi posters as a kid if I didn't do well in school. I also believe he thought I was a lot younger than I am, until my mom started to tell him what I do for a living (while defending herself for threats against the posters), then he looked at me kind of weird - and my mom had sensed the same thing and said, "She looks young." He agreed, but then again, what else do you say to that? "Oh no, she looks really old!" LOL!
Thanks again to everyone that read and enjoyed my tales with the Juke Box Heroness!
