You don't like them that's fine. But U2 and Coldplay shows have absolutely nothing in common.
When there's keyboard stuff in U2 songs it's either the Edge playing it or a sample, just as Dave uses for Bon Jovi. For Coldplay it's either Chris Martin or Guy Berryman.

BTW they suck!

I know it's a bit unfair to compare first concert of one band with the nth concert of another band, that's what I acknowledged at the end of my previous post.
But if I stick to Bon Jovi and compare 1995, 1996, 2001 and 2005 Bon Jovi shows, the conclusion is the same.

Yes, the setlist is very long, but to be honest, I'm still nog quite satosfied with the setlist. Like Thierry and others say: "Cut the crap and bring back the rock songs!"

In other words: no more Captain Crash (!!!!!!), Just Older, Welcome, TLFR, Treat Her Right and other cover songs, Sleep etc

and bring back at least ONE These Days song, BOB, I'd Die For You and other KTF songs like In These Arms.

I liked the version of I'd Die For You back in 1995/1996, but I really don't like the TLFR stuff. What do you think: will they keep them up the entirer tour?

Hello Mireille
yes I can remember the show in Paris 2001 and can compare with the others I saw in Germany in 2000 ( Essen and Leipzig)
in paris Bercy : no big stage ,no special lights ,no fireworks, comparing to
the others I saw...just a real rock concert ,very electric and a very very hot
crowd...is it because they know that the french are hard to convince ?
but what they did ,this night was amazing..and of course it was a show of a rock group
there were fans on stage but it was not too focused on Jon kissing girls etc
(one time is ok ,but several times like ponrauil said, is too much ,and not 'rock 'at all !!)

so for me bercy 2001 ,was the best bon jovi show ,i saw

Ad lib
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Ad lib (and ad-lib) are terms derived from the Latin ad libitum, meaning "at one's pleasure". Ad lib is the adjective or adverb; ad-lib is the verb or noun form.

Most commonly, in drama, the quick-witted invention of dialogue to cover a performer's memory lapse would be an example of an ad-lib. Or, a director might encourage performers to ad-lib in a particular show. (The term ad-lib usually refers to the interpolation of unscripted material in an otherwise scripted performance. When the entire performance is grounded in spontaneous creation, the process is usually called improvisation).

Live performers such as television talk-show hosts sometimes enhance their reputation for wit by the delivery of material that sounds ad-libbed but is actually scripted, and may employ ad-lib writers to prepare such material.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically, it means that Jon or the band did or said something that was surprising or unscripted.

But as I said, the songs don't work on me, a bit because of BJ because as good as they are they're not as good as say 10 years back (studio and live), but mostly because of myself and my own evolution.

So yeah I'm done with Bon Jovi shows. With all the artists from or visiting Montreal, I can attend 4 or 5 great shows for the same price.

What could change my mind is an amzing new album I'd be dying to hear live. Very unlikely imo.

I thought the U2 concert two weeks ago was much better. The songs were better imo and the intensity higher. As I said in the review I posted about that U2 show, it was very complete. With BJ there was too much of this or too little of that.

I also prefered (in no order) System Of a Down, Green Day, Coldplay, NOFX, Muse, Les Cowboys Fringants and even Dead Can Dance, but that one's not that comparable. To be honest, these were all first concerts.

Ponrauil
Fair enough. Thanks for your input.

I don't think they should play Box Set songs IMO... I mean, they were never album tracks and were released as rarities for the long time fan. Why play songs never intended to even be on a record? Though, I'd like to see them perform a couple of them.... I mean, the way the play Radio live compared to the Box Set version is horrible. It seems like the guitars aren't as brutal and everything is tamed down a couple notches. I'd rather them keep it a raritie and not play it at all.

I just hope that they scrap the TLFR element of the shows before they hit Europe. As I've said in the past, there are a few TLFR tracks that I don't mind, but I still do prefer the original versions of those songs. ESPECIALLY the TLFR songs that they have played on this tour so far, I would much prefer the originals!!

I would feel a bit cheated if I wasn't able to hear either of Bed Of Roses, Always or I'll Be There For You the way they were written many years ago....as REAL power ballads!!

Come on boys, don't lose this stuff forever.
