Ok first of all... the video of them backstage... oh my God it was TOTALLY awkward asking if Richie would play on the next record and neither Jon or Richie seemed to know what to say. Just absolutely cringeworthy.

I only saw a few minutes of Jon’s speech on the live feed on Facebook as I have a one year old and I really wasn’t able to fully give it my attention but from what I did hear it did sound very much like Jon was reading his own biography, rattling off facts and dates ex “In 1984 the record came out, Runaway became a top 40 hit, next we toured with Scorpions, KISS and White Snake, after that in 1985 the next album came out, then we went to Japan, next was SWW, then NJ, then grunge era and KTF etc and so on. I literally thought to myself why is he listing their career highlights over and over. Idk. As I said I didn’t see the whole thing so maybe other parts were better. It just didn’t feel “personal” to me, just like he was rattling off facts and figures.

I was a little surprised at the love he shouted out to Doc McGhee. Clearly it’s fine and necessary to mention him and give thanks but he really seemed to lay it on kind of thick after their falling out. I did love his shout-out to his greatest hits, his kids and of course to Dorothea.

I really hope when HBO airs this they show the entire speech and the rest of the guys speeches as well as the performances. Maybe my opinion on Jon’s will change when I hear the entire thing. Looking forward to seeing the OG band together on stage after all this time.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I had to close my laptop so I'm on my phone now and I can't follow all the feeds.

Moody Blues are in their second song now.

But you guys should take a look on this Richie interview.

"What was the first conversation you had with Jon after the years apart?
He came up and kissed me; I kissed him back. He said, "I love you"; I said, "I love you, too, man. Let's get it on."

Yeah I am fine with Phil as he's a member but Shanks is not. There was no need to have 3 guitarists on stage.
