Aloha !
Alright, I've kind of stayed out of this Hall of Fame discussion. For whatever reason this thing is really important in America and has been of major importance in the life of a lot of fans, so I deemed it a no go area. If it honestly means this much I don't feel the need to go on and try to have my own party over it just because I'm not feeling it. There's been enough rain the last few years anyway. I don't really understand why this thing is so important though. I've always thought it's a weird idea to get an elite club of people decide as to whether you've been important enough for enough people to make a stamp on music history. Still, that said, as for what it's worth, I think the Hall of Fame is mostly some personal reward and acknowledgement for them, as to how they did start as some guys from Jersey and have made it so far.
So yeah, good to see everyone's happy. Seeing Richie back on stage with the other guys is kind of showing everything what's wrong with Bon Jovi when he's not there. As much as he's a charicature of a rock star nowadays, he's also the closest to a rock star Bon Jovi's ever had and another indication as to how much the dynamic has changed. As much as they've got their shit together, they're also a very bland group of people who lack identity. As for the performance, shame Richie ****s up pretty much every solo he was supposed to do, and why he's out anyway. And no, he's not doing a different solo, because different solo's are still in key.
And yes, Jon does sound like ass though, but I'm surprised to hear how much Richie's harmony's are still needed to make Jon sound better. As for getting emotional, nah...I don't get teary eyed over these things because I don't feel any attachement to Bon Jovi, nor do I get giddy over photo's over 5 guys who're only together over something they did 20 years ago. Nostalgia never worked for me, even though I think it's rubbish how there's 3 guys on that stage who've done **** all to get that band on that stage anyway.
As for the speech; I've never watched any of the other speeches. Jon starts of rather intertaining though, but once it changed from mentioning names and places to bringing up Grammy's, a number 1 tour and eventually him plugging an album devoid of any of the soul and musicianship that made me a fan and has nothing to do with the reason as to why they got in there I'm reminded as to why I feel so detached from Bon Jovi nowadays. Jon's out of touch with his fanbase and his own music as much as I'm out of touch with what Jon wants to represent nowadays.
If this thing they've currently got going on then I'm happy for you. This band means something different to everyone one of you and just because I find it hard to understand why and how you're feeling about this band and question your opinion doesn't mean I think your love and dedication is wrong as well.
But anyway, back to the old program:

You don't get hate from going against the grain, you get hate because you're acting like a dick. Honestly, if you're get so butthurt because people disagree with you on the ****ing internet you should think twice when signing in. You're raining on my parade as much as your own here.
There. I feel soooo much better getting that of my chest.
Salaam Aleikum,
