JBJ also left a hand written note to his guests with something like this:
"It's about time... (together)
Thank you for being here with us
old guys

JBJ"

Let's not get carried away... although I do agree that Richie's vocals are missed and I do agree that he could be heard during the duration of the song, to say he made 'such a difference' is a little overstated. The song is okay at best and a little backing vocal from Richie isn't impacting it that much...Of course the VISUAL of Richie being there, in combination with his return is adding to it all too... I'll be a better judge once we get the HBO SBD...

When it comes to the studio tracks, I totally blame Shanks for the lack of all backing vocals period. At the very least, Jon should be backing himself up... Real Love is missing a backing vocal for example and I always visioned Richie singing it with him... However I feel that a great producer could have filled that void with Jon himself do his own backing vocals in the studio... Jani Lane always backed himself up on Warrant albums and it sounded spectacular...

I've always said that THINSF is not a Bon Jovi album... It's a solo album featuring Tico and Dave... It would be like Paul McCartney coming out with a Beatles album without John... Dave played a little on DA too so my logic isn't too far off here...

Anyway.... because of that, I listen to THINFS like its a solo album... I don't miss Richie on DA and that's why I don't miss Richie on THIS HOUSE... To me, this current line up is like a secondary side band for Jon and I don't mind this change... I thought that Bon Jovi was getting stale and needed a necessary change... I do enjoy watching Phil and Everette live (Shanks I could do without)... I think they continue to improve and have come a very long way since the beginning of this tour...

Sure they will never compare to what Bon Jovi once was but Jon will never compare to what Jon once was either... It's just different... I've grown to accept it and more so enjoy it... Maybe not all of it but a good majority of it...

It's a matter of opinion. To me it makes a massive difference. It makes it sound like a Bon Jovi song and not just another generic JBJ & friends song.

I definitely agree that there should be more backing vocals, but I'd rather Dave was more prominent than more Jon. I never liked it when you can hear the same voice backing up the lead.

It's easy to not miss Richie on DA because they style is so different to your average Bon Jovi album. THINFS is released as a Bon Jovi album and stylistically it's the same as what they have been doing for the last 10-15 years, and that's why I miss Richie's voice on it but not on DA.

Scars is a perfect example of a song which is screaming out for some Richie harmonies.

I can’t not think it every time I hear it. Richie harmonies with a nice guitar solo and it becomes a much better song for me.

I'm not sure about this, Real Love clearly has Jon backing himself up from around 2:30 forward.

The biggest problem I'm having with what people are saying about Richie's voice being missed but the guitar playing is spotty, and it would make the songs better, we're talking about WAN all over again. I don't want him back solely for his vocals because we'd just have WAN. I want all of him.
