What a nice change to see so many great reviews. I had posted after my show in 2017 that being in the audience surrounded by all the positive energy with everyone singing and enjoying themselves is incomparable to watching the show on a live stream or youtube videos. I hadn't even realized how bad Jon sounded at my show until I later watched videos. At the end of the day, your experience in the moment at the show is all that matters.

This show does seem to be Jon's best vocally this leg. And if nothing else, he is working his ass off to do the songs justice. He is absolutely leaving everything he has on that stage.

I feel like Dry County may be making an appearance soon.

Jon really gave his all during Always.

I honestly get the feeling he is soaking up as much as he can and living in the moment in the knowledge this may well be his last tour.

He knows his voice is truly shot and is just enjoying himself while it lasts.

I think there is money in a final tour announcement, this may or not coincide with the new album. I see 2020 into 2021 and then calling it a day.

I think the next Album, will be the penultimate one.

Richie, (and Alec if possible) have to be on the Final Album, and on the farewell tour! Jon, surely will put aside any "feelings" and Tico and David with Richie to satisfy the fans.

But since I attended the concert at Nijmegen I also wanted to share my experience, in case it can be useful for any of you that are planning to attend any of the coming concerts.

Brief background: this concert was my fifth Bon Jovi concert (first one being Berlin 2000 and last one before Nijmegen being Athens 2011) and I consider myself a ‘’healthy’’ die hard Bon Jovi fan (if such a thing exists). Like most of you, I have been watching many of the videos on YouTube over these past years and couldn’t help but feel disappointed with Jon’s performance. So, I had my doubts before going to the concert and didn’t have high expectations. But still was very excited to attend a Bon Jovi concert after eight years.

And you know what: I had a blast! The band was superb and sounded great. As others have already mentioned, Jon as a frontman was excellent. He looked great and in very good shape (he was jumping and moving up and down throughout the entire show), he was in great spirits and was interacting with the audience and the other band members all the time. Vocally, my impression is that this was one of his best most recent performances. And I would like to clarify what I mean by that.

I was in the Golden Circle, something like 7th-8th row from the stage, and from what I was able to hear and experience in the moment that I was experiencing it, felt and sounded very good. Was it because the entire band seemed to be having fun? Was it because Jon’s voice was ''protected'' in the mix? Was it because me and many people around me were singing our hearts out (I agree that audiences in this part of the world don’t tend to be very energetic, but a lot of the people I was able to see from my field of vision in the Golden Circle were having a great time)? I don’t know and I don’t care, because it doesn’t really matter. All that matters is that I had a great time.

If there is one thing I would like to suggest to all of you that are going to attend any of the coming concerts is this: experience the moment. And I am not talking about not using cellphones during the concert, I am talking about not allowing yourself to enjoy with heart and soul what you are experiencing the very moment it is happening in front of you and with you. And then you will know if you liked the concert or not. If you say that Jon’s vocals ruined it for me, then you have every right to say so. If you find that the setlist was boring, can anyone tell you that you are wrong? On that note, I found the setlist at Nijmegen great, not because it had any rarities (it didn’t) or because of always, but simply because it worked (apart from a couple of duds, like lost highway and WWBTF, which just are not good live songs). If I had seen the setlist on paper, like I have done so many times in the past, I most probably would have said that it was a bad one.

A concert, like any other experience, is something that you only live in the moment it happens. So, it would be a shame to let the moment pass us by just because of something we have read, heard or seen before.

And as one final remark, here is a short story from the concert: in front of me there were two middle aged women, the type of fans that are so often labelled as ‘soccer moms that only enjoy watching Jon shaking his ass’. Throughout the concert they were nice but nothing too enthusiastic: just a little bit of dancing and singing. But when ‘it’s my life’ started, one of the two women just fell into the other woman’s arms and burst into tears. And from the first chorus and onwards, with tears in her eyes, sang as loud as she could. Now, out of all Bon Jovi songs, ‘it’s my life’ is not a song that I would assume could have such a deep emotional meaning for someone. But obviously it meant a lot to that lady and I am pretty sure this is something that she will remember for a long time. I know I will.

To all of you that will be attending any of the coming concerts, I truly wish you have a great time.

Kind regards,
Panos

Jon’s voice may not allow him the choice.

To be fair you aren't wrong. For people that like THINFS, it's one of the more popular songs in the album, and for those that don't it's a good piss break.
