That’s the thing for me, at least. I fully accept the band aren’t a patch on their former selves, I don’t listen to or play their catalogue anywhere near as much as I once did. Yet, no other band will ever be ‘my’ band. If that makes sense?
I’ve followed them since I was 9yrs old. I’m now 41. I’ve been around music since I could talk. My musical tastes are quite varied from Ray Lamontagne to Pantera so it’s not as if I’ve just been cocooned in my own Jovi utopia!
I appreciate I’m older, have a family, work commitments etc so perhaps my time is less music orientated. But no matter how good a song I hear, no matter how amazing someone sings or plays guitar, I 100% know I’ll never get those goosebumps or nervous excited moments as I did with Bon Jovi.
