Just back from the show! The encore was only two songs as noted, TD and prayer. Zero surprises on set. Did I have a great time? Yes. In gold circle, sound and screens great, the band to me were on fire and Jon’s voice was pretty good. Lay your hands on me, it was shocking and I think perhaps Faith but he was on form in terms of movement and working the crowd. Biggest shock of the night came in the manics set....sweet child of mind!!!

I could write a lengthy review but knackered so in short, shanks, nothing to say, Jon’s voice decent in gold standing......crowd was electric in there so not sure what it is like at the back. Big talk at start by Jon about loving the album blah blah, played one song from it! We don’t run wasn’t played which was annoying. Crash, who says, sleep all played. But crowd responded to all except amen. WLOL was back, I’d normally say zzzzzz but in GC, we were all singing. However, having the stands all on their feet for RYH and bad name, they all sat down again. Phil X, I’m sorry Richie lovers, but Phil has added a younger fun dimension to band. Simply plays, riffs, rocks out and enjoys the whole night. Love him. Tico equals machine and Davy on the keys was on fire. Weirdly Jon never introduced the band.

So set, could have been better but everything played was very tight and sound great. Screens too. Crowd seemed very into it, great shots of hands in the air for crash. A great show, pleasantly surprised, I openly admit I feared the worst from the you tube videos of other shows.....don’t fall into the trap!

Jon was on fire. Maybe his voice is shot but the man knows how to work a crowd. Saw Metallica last week and they were excellent but Jon blows them out of the water.

Set may look vanilla but Jon had the people in the seats up and dancing right to the end. And you can scoff all you like but earlier in the week they had one of the biggest bands of the 80s opening for them, today they had an excellent band from the 90s opening for them. Bon Jovi have been doing it at this level for 30 years. And as good as the Manics were tonight, Jon was immeasurably better.
