As for Shanks, he looks so uncomfortable up there. He has zero stage presence and really should be kept to rhythm guitar only.

Agreed, but then again, according to Jon, he has been nerving him quite a lot to take him as the 2nd guitar player because he "basically knows all the songs". He just doesn't belong there and it's not like he's needed to play a solo. Even though I don't always like Phil X's playing on certain songs, him doing the solos in HAND and ITA would be miles better.

Agree but WWBTF is one of those songs that Jon’s convinced himself that the world bought into and the message hit home with all sorts of people of all ages.

I will give him that most people liked it equally alright.

Bobby knew all the songs as well, Matt could learn all the songs too.

Both of them would be more useful than Shanks on stage in different aspects

I agree about Matt though, it really is a matter of Shanks kissin' up to Jon because he wants to be there as well. Then at least he should put a bit more effort in. Some people are just made for being up on a stage (Jon, Phil etc.) and some aren't (Shanks).

I used to think that a part of Richie's departure was to blame on him being fed up with Bobby being there, by now I think it was more to Shanks being around all the time.

They don't? Any idea what happened, they always seemed so tight.

They got into an argument around mid-2015 when it was time to start preparing for the next album/tour cycle and Bobby had become very overweight after the BWC tour. Jon told him to get back in shape (probably in a pretty rude way), Bobby got angry, and they haven't been in terms since then.

Are we talking Matt O'Ree? if so he definitely has the blues and soul BUT is probably too good to play 2nd fiddle..

He's moving around more , which is nice. You can see he's starting to enjoy it a little more, I think.
