Nope. He didn't do it for the two Dublin shows either.

I went last night, had a great time.

Yes I noticed that Jon can't reach some of the notes, he definitely struggled in Amen - you could see it on his face. I found it strange that he only introduced half the band?

The energy from ALL the band was infectious though. I was wary after all I heard on here about Phil X but actually I really enjoyed him being part of the band and his facial expressions lol. I was in GC (first time, usually o just get standard) and whilst I enjoyed being able to see them properly, not having to just watch the screens etc it was cramped. I witnessed a few erm, disagreements, about people trying to push in etc. You hardly had room to move and I kept annoying the woman next to me by doing stuff like raising my hands etc - a lot of people round me seemed more interested in taking videos and getting the perfect photo then joining in :/ which may be why it appears that there was space at the back of GC - I bet it was near full capacity.

From what I could tell the majority of the audience loved the show. Once again Jon had us eating out of his hands ...

Yes the happy birthday was for Paul McCartney.

Jon did talk about Liverpool FC - mentioned the European champions, made a joke about Everton and Liverpool etc, obviously the Beatles references etc, so did "personalise" the show in some ways - no nothing major but enough - we didn't want him to talk for half an hour did we? I'm a Northern girl - this was the show for the north of England - not Liverpool and I don't actually think "you'll never walk alone' would have gone down well at all. I don't associate with it (I'm not a football follower at all).

The Beatles encore did leave me feeling a bit meh - but I'm 29 - people who are older who were around me seemed to enjoy it.

So... Yeah I had a great night, no it wasn't perfect, but it was (mainly) fun, I enjoyed the set list, the band were having a great time...

Oh and I was pleasantly surprised by the Manic Street Preachers - after the Dublin review's I wasn't looking forward to their act but they were better than I had heard. Still bummed the UK don't get Def Leppard though....

Salaam Aleikum,

Sebastiaan
I've noticed this too.

The reviews don't specify much about the actual concert. I wouldn't be surprised if the reviewer wasn't actually there. The Bon Jovi camp probably made a nice donation to the newspaper and everyone's happy.
