Going back home from Tallinn in a couple of hours...

Great show (for the period). While the set list was pretty vanilla, Jon was very energetic, and his vocals were nowhere near as bad as I had been expecting. We also got These Days, which had been my biggest wish to hear live from the band ever since I missed the Tampere show in 2013... I was so mesmerized that all I could do was stand still and just listen in awe. What a great song, not forgetting to mention a very decent effort by Jon!

Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised by Jon’s voice considering the circumstances. No, you don’t get 100% lost in the moment and therefor manage to unhear the (occasionally very obvious) bum notes and tonal hiccups, but for the most part I thought he sounded pretty good for his current standards. Once in a while he skipped a word or two due to running out of breath, but overall he held it together quite OK last night.

Glad you had a good time, and it's great you got a song you were desperate to hear. It's also nice to hear that you can enjoy the show and Jon's vocals despite the obvious frailties we have these days

The size of the crowd is insane. They are really packed in tight. Must be at least 100k.

Just wondering how can a band pull in this many people to a concert when they have never toured there before?

Phil X doesn’t have any clue how to perform these days or the ballads on a bluesy tone. He is lacking and the songs are missing emotion because of that.

Too bad Jon doesn’t want to perform Hey God, he’s got nothing to lose as it will sound as shitty as the other songs.

Although there’s some slight improvements Prayer sounds decent again.

I was absolutely pumped Medicine sounded horrendous (as expected), but this time it wasn’t even completely due to Jon’s ”singing” - the band was playing it with pretty much no spunk, too. It just dragged and fell flat for me, although Jon was moving and the crowd was particularly enthusiastic during the song.

Also, I witnessed a similar thing to what epfg did in Rio ’17: Jon pushed himself so hard during the main set, both vocally and physically, that he was barely able to finish the show. When he started singing the first verse of Wanted, I immediately thought ”uh oh...” and by the end of the song, his voice was absolutely shot to the shit house. Prayer was good only because of the crowd (which actually was quite lame for most of the night) - Jon was lucky to have 50,000 backing singers to help him get through the song.

Great night, and definitely way above my (almost non-existent) expectations. I still stand behind my previous words about Jon’s poor vocal shape overall - as it was very obviously displayed in the encore -, but his frontmanship is still unrivaled, and the overall great energy and atmosphere of the show (despite the shitty crowd) made the trip well worth it. Jonny’s church of rock ’n’ roll won me over, once again.

PS. I was nearly crying at the end of These Days, when Jon made us sing the woo-ooh’s. The way he stood there, pointing the mic on us over and over again, his facial expression telling of him being completely possessed by the moment... that was our Jon, the one we all know and love. That moment in that song made me think about the time I was a 4-year-old kid hearing TD for the first time. Prior to last night, I never thought I’d ever be able to hear it live - and then I did.

These kinds of special moments are the reason why, despite all the vocal issues, crappy set lists, lousy new albums etc., I still love this band, and always will.

Thank you, Jon.

The visuals for HAND are brilliant and add a new dynamic for the fan. I wish we had these particular screens for the Sydney concert last year. I wonder how much heat comes off them and how it affects the bands energy levels.
