That was painful in the literal sense - even though the sound was pretty muddy on my place in the audience and therefor hid some of the more subtle flaws earlier in the show (e.g. a few cracks I only noticed today while watching the videos), Prayer I just couldn't take anymore. Thank goodness there were as many people as there were to pull him through; without them, Jon would probably have ended up with hemorrhaged vocal cords. Fortunately, the crowd was there and Jon got off the stage alive.

That said, my ears were bleeding nonetheless.
Oh c'mon, it wasn't nearly as bad as you're saying. Was it great? Hell, no! Was ist good? Maybe not! But was it horrendous and made my ears bleed? Not even close! Go and bitch somewhere else, you sound like a broken record. Must be hard to be you...

My thoughts exactly. BJfan99 is one of the biggest drama queens on this page it seems.

No, it wasn't quite as horrible as some of the early 2017 versions, but as I said yesterday, during the encore Jon's voice was completely gone (caused by all the 120% pushing in the main set) and therefor it was painful to hear him try to get out the last bits of voice he had left, as well as see him grip the living shit out of the mic stand.

I'm not bitching, just telling you how I feel/felt. IMO, Jon should've ended the main set with Blood On Blood (which pretty much killed his voice for good that night), done Wanted in the encore with the crowd singing the first verse and asked Dave to sing the verses of LOAP while joining in only on the choruses - his voice was that shot. Also, he was wearing a scarf near the end of the show, which indicates to me that he might have been battling some sinus issues/hay fever, once again...

That's what I was thinking, too (about the scarf). Let's hope the decline from Moscow to this one was due to hay fever or something (I'm suffering from it as we speak, so it's not unheard of), and not overly pushing himself. But I think Jon has finally accepted that he has limits, knows those and how to protect what he's got left, so I wouldn't worry too much.

And I don't know, I haven't watched the whole show, but that LOAP rendition still wasn't sounding as bad as you write, i.e. that he was running on the last cylinder. To me, he sounded just as usual, maybe a bit worse than in Moscow, but ok to nowadays standards.

Let's see how round 3 goes...

Nowadays, he grips the mic stand like his life depended on it on every song, so it doesn't mean much.

No, he actually took the mic out of the stand on many songs and moved around, sounding better indeed than he does while standing still. One of the reasons why the verses of These Days are sounding so shit might actually be Jon's static position.

Yes, but what I mean is , on pretty much every song for a while he's static on the mic stand and gripping it like he's going to have a stroke any second. I'm not saying that he's gripping it all the time.

Tico should sing LOAP while spinning around in a glass box like Tommy Lee does.

Jon could use the time to sign autographs and take selfies with fans at the front.

I imagine that scenario would be far less painful than the one fans have to endure now.

It would be a nice bonus if Tico does all that while he is in the air, upside down and drumming at the same time.
