I took my 11 year old son to his first proper concert last night and we had a great time. I had no illusions as to the kind of set list we'd be getting and so I wasn't disappointed there. Always is one of my favourites and Jon did a great job, relative to what I was expecting. I may be alone, but I really like Amen. It's a song he obviously likes singing and is within his current range, so for me it comes off very well.

Almost everyone around me had an amazing time. I say almost as the guy next to me sat down grumpy the whole night - felt sorry for his partner who was up and dancing along most of the night. If the crowd is mostly made up of casual fans then I'm thankful for that, as they made the atmosphere so good. I've been going to Bon Jovi shows since the early 90s, and while the band has changed, and Jon's voice isn't what it was, they always put on a fun show. Jon looked like he was having the time of his life, with so much energy, and that makes a huge difference, and adds to the enjoyment of the show so much.

To still be able to see 'my songs' performed live some 30+ years after they changed my life, is not something I take for granted and I'll keep going for as long as they tour. Seeing my son singing and dancing to some of the songs made it even more special. I'm over the moon the first concert he's wanted to go to is Bon Jovi, that's a memory I'll hold on to for the rest of my life, and I hope he does too.

Music is for the fun,not for deep analyse or behavior theories. I like Bay's movies as Spielberg too,but Bay's movies hold records-8 billion gross and who gives a shit about comparison then. Nobody said Jon is in the great vocal shape but for the most of time he is good, far from great, far from shape 2011. He is putting great effort through the every show so far, specially by stage presence. Some people here just because this is dissussion forum take a liberty to tell others that they are deaf and blind because they enjoyed the show no matter of Jons bad shape vocally. You dont have to go and witness that but some of you already go and guess what- they enjoyed the shows and they are positive about the band.

I checked out a few more bootlegs and it was clear he hadn't done a great show in Boston in quite some time. Most was done on autopilot, like most of the American tour. The guy saying he's never done a bad show was you. Now who was right?

These guys on Facebook not picking up on the details you're pointing out are similar to you not picking up the details I was pointing out back then. I've enjoyed discussing and defending my point of view and will stand by it no matter what, but in the end, neither one of us was right or wrong as I can't dictate the things you should love or hate. I can question it, but I can't tell you what to do.

Once you'll accept people go see a Bon Jovi show for the same reason people go see Michael Bay movies you're good. No one expects greatness, everyone knows it's pretty bad actually, but if you're capable past it, it can be entertaining nonetheless. If you can't see past that and expect Steven Spielberg instead you best move on.

Salaam Aleikum,

Sebastiaan
Mmm...

I actually agree with that

No one is telling people that they can't enjoy the show. I'm sure it's easy to get lost in the excitement and atmosphere and have a great time, and enjoy the band and Jon as a front man. What people are saying is that people who say that Jon is sounding great and they couldn't hear any problems vocally must either be deaf or in complete denial. Sorry, but I agree with that...despite the fact that I am enjoying the footage much more from this run than anything in the past couple of years...

You really are a pompous douche.
Where did you go after? A strip club? Or back to your lonesome hotel?

I just watched Always. How amazing to see Wembley so lit up. Also, yes,Jon is shouty and it takes everything out of him to sing it but it’s my favorite song. Like I told Thierry in Dublin, “Jon can sound like a strangled cat” but I want to hear Always because even if vocally its bad it is special to me.

When they say that he sound great I dont think they mean he is that good, maybe in his age he sound great or something, maybe that is overall feeling from the show or they dont compare him to the 2011 or pre 2000. I dont think that majority think this way but if they do,that is their opinion. For me he is solid, not all the time but for the most of it. He compesate his vocal now by stage energy and overall his enjoyment on the stage an that is good.

If you saw Jovi from 83-2010ish you know the voice isn’t the same. But no one around me seemed bothered.
Everyone was up on their feet dancing and singing and that’s what it’s about. Escaping life’s shitness for nearly 2 and half hours fun.

That’s what we got and when Jbj is on this form having this much fun no front man can touch him.

Phil x adds energy and tico is still excellent. Dave was also on top form. I’ve moaned about Everett but he had good presence and adds to vocals.

Shanks has no presence at all so I have no idea why there as BJ were always a 1 guitar band when Richie was there.

Yeah I’d lose about 4/5 songs from set (highway duo, Amen and Capt crash) but all said and done a good show.
