In 2008, you never knew what they'd pull out of the closet next. I remember standing in the GC in Hamburg or Amsterdam and we just didn't have a clue which song was next because they kept dusting off these songs that hadn't been played in ages. That's the way it's supposed to be in my opinion. It is also the reason for my increased consumption of alcohol before and during shows this summer

I agree. The Europe Tour has been a bit of a letdown. Don't get me wrong! There has been some AMAZING shows. It's harder to name the bad shows than the amazing. But in terms of suprises it has been a letdown. There hasn't been ANY tour premiere this leg since the beggining of Europe. Even though I know that you can't crave much more Europe usually gets some crazy songs. Look at Europe 2008! There were so many crazy songs that got played for the first time in ages. This tour it feels like they have the usual suprises. They have the usual semi-rare songs Radio, Livin' In Sin, Older, Dry County, These Days, Always and then what Jon calls major suprises like Wild is the Wind, Damned, Lie To Me, Letting You Go, Hey God, Something To Believe In and those songs. And those are crazy songs that would have made any set list great. But so far this tour there haven't been one single "WOW HOLY SHIT" moment. I remember at the o2, all the crazy set list and all those songs you never thought would be played again !
Don't get me wrong, this tour have had a couple of AMAZING shows but I miss some mega rarities. Letting You Go and Lie To Me are the only true suprises so far, but those have been played last year soo...
