Jon is most likely the one keeping it in the family, which on some level I can appreciate and admire... but after giving them a chance, move on! I can only guess that he doesn't even review these things, he just lets Tony do his thing and be done with it.
As I said earlier, I'd love to see David Mallet return and have handled the direction for Lisbon. He knows how to capture the vibe and audience. Some fault him for too many quick shots, but he gives the audience personality. The faces stand out. He works to capture things as they happened both on and off-stage.
What the hell is up with the footage being so dark.??... Again!! (NMS was the same.) Any shots of the audience without the flood lights on them are pointless... such as during I Believe during the call and return "Yeahs." Any shots from the back are so dark you can't make out whats on the stage and the audience is just an indistinct black sea. That long shot from the back at the beginning of Raise Your Hands is awkward and abrupt because you can't make out anything other than pin dot lights on the stage screen. You feel like you are going blind. Then suddenly it cuts to a close-up of Jon, who we didn't even see come out. I had initially given credit for taking longer shots using the cameras from the back, but they are poorly timed. I got the sense he knew it was about the audience, but was woefully prepared to capture the event in amateur-like fashion.
Despite all of that, yes I'd still want to see this released on DVD or in some other form in full quality.. simply for some sort of document and for the chance to review in much better quality. The stream was horrible in quality and lessened enjoyment of it. I'm actually hoping to see a combo-pack release of NMS and Lisbon... hopefully with all songs restored rather than the edited versions we got.

I agree. Previous recordings of recent concerts have been too dark. I know little about who is behind it, but i'll take your word for it. As good as MSG DVD was there was something about it that was slightly off. I think dark=negative. Live videos of BJ shows have always been about bright lights and pyrotechnics full of energy. I'm sure Lisbon was great but everything about the recording made it boring to watch
