Part of that may just be he was in better shape. In this video, he looks half the size he is now in the gut area. He's gotten fat and lazy since about the beginning of 2006.

That video's from the Lost Highway tour so it's after 2006 (at least 2007, probably 200. His weight seems to have fluctuated a lot since 2005.
