Maybe, but I think his voice is more "on show" if it's accoustic. With electric you can muffle a voice more, as the instruments drown it out a bit more.

i see you point but you can improvise more with acoustic and rather than going up on a particular note, jon will go down or stay at the same pitch instead.
That would seem like more work though. In fairness though, there aren't really a lot of artists that can reach the same pitch as they do on an album. Freddie Mercury always sang a few keys lower in concerts and he always left the sreaming parts to his drummer, as Roger's voice is higher anyway!

watch any bon jovi acoustic performance and they keys at the end of lines are always changed. i don't really think this is to save on voices but more to suit the songs. screaming rock vocals wouldn't suit an acoustic version of prayer for example.

& an acoustic prayer is also alot easier to sing.

Prayer is one of those songs that sounds nice acoustic in the bedroom, but in a live capacity should always be electric!!

prayer acoustic is great, its very soulful and portrays a more powerful meaning then the electric version.

The only complaint I have about the acoustic shows is that while Europe got it for one lousy time, the US is now getting them for a great majority of the summer shows. (And I DON'T mean the Kiel show would've been lousy, it's a reference to the band doing only ONE half-acoustic show here.) I'd like to be able to experience the acoustic gigs too -- ON THIS CONTINENT, without having to fly across the Atlantic to see them.

Granted, if the band came here now (or within the next few months) for a handful of acoustic promo gigs in, say, Germany and the UK, I probably couldn't afford to travel even that far. But at least more European fans would be able to see and hear the band in acoustic form then, and the whole acoustic thing wouldn't just be an exclusive treat for the US fans. It breaks my heart to see all those These Days songs on the acoustic US set lists, having heard that the majority of the US crowds -- and I'm NOT talking about the die-hards that come here or visit the Backstage board, I'm talking about the bulk of the crowd, the general public, the masses -- are pretty much clueless about the whole TD album.

Oh, c'mon Jovian. You're just pissed because you didn't get to attend a show. How come it's OK to complain the band keeps the set lists the same, never changes anything, it too predictable... but then they do something different and it's not OK because it's not in your neck of the woods?!

As if the band owes one part of the world something and another part of the world doesn't deserve something.
No matter what this band does, it's the wrong.
No matter what they do, they can't seem to make some people happy.
