I think it has sod all to do with promotion. How can they promote something that's not happening for another 3 months?

err?

when do you think 'promotion' for bounce started?
When do you think promotion for the shows start? I certainly saw the Old Trafford gig being promoted in December (show being in june..)

In my opinion, part promotion, part practice, part test to see what reactions they get to certain songs / the idea

You got that right, I'm pissed off beyond belief. Why shouldn't I be? I *thought* I made a wise choice with the UK shows, but ended up getting the most repetitive set list on the entire tour, plus no acoustic parts and no Jovi rarities in the set list. And then I have to watch aside, without being able to take part in it myself, when the US is getting the absolute best set lists on the entire tour (minus perhaps Kiel and Munich and some Japanese shows) with the half-acoustic shows.

It's been known to take a helluva lot less to make a person peeved, you know. Even wars have been started for less important reasons.

Yeah, this is what I think, too! I think they're playing around with it, not only to see what the fans think but also to see which works and doesn't work etc... I think it's great, and I think it's also cool that they're doing it now in the States. The first leg seemed kinda basic setlistwise, so I think they deserve to get some rarities etc over there this time around

I'd like to be able to experience the acoustic gigs too -- ON THIS CONTINENT, without having to fly across the Atlantic to see them.

Granted, if the band came here now (or within the next few months) for a handful of acoustic promo gigs in, say, Germany and the UK, I probably couldn't afford to travel even that far. But at least more European fans would be able to see and hear the band in acoustic form then, and the whole acoustic thing wouldn't just be an exclusive treat for the US fans. It breaks my heart to see all those These Days songs on the acoustic US set lists, having heard that the majority of the US crowds -- and I'm NOT talking about the die-hards that come here or visit the Backstage board, I'm talking about the bulk of the crowd, the general public, the masses -- are pretty much clueless about the whole TD album.

If I hadn't heard it a million times that Mary Beth supposedly only posts under the same old nick everywhere, I might just be willing to bet that this is another one of Ms Board Queen's aliases... But I'm trying to believe that there would be even just a hint of honesty in MB and take her word for it when she's said she only posts under the nick Mary Beth.

And no, you're wrong. Plenty of things have been more than good enough for me, even on this tour. David singing the first verses of In These Arms, Diamond Ring wherever it was, Lola in Manchester and HP, various band members acknowledging me from stage, etc etc etc. The only disappointment for me was the repetitive set lists...and I suppose I would've survived just fine without all that extra cr*p that went on in the fan circles during the tour. But other than those, the tour was just fine. With or without a laminate. I enjoyed the shows for what they were, it didn't really bother me right there and then that the set lists were repeating themselves. That's something that only came about when I was going through the set lists after the shows.
