Default The Setlist

I really hope they change things up with the setlist order at the O2 or at least come the next tour. We have been getting some gems in the set (Dry county, These Days, Garageland, Living in sin, Always etc) and im happy with that, but the set as a whole is still far to prediactable and 'safe'.

I cant honestly believe the band/Jon are content with playing the same stuff every night, and watching them run through another stale performance of Bad name and Bad medecine on autopilot is not enjoyable for me. Like i said, i like that they have been including some rarer stuff, and im looking forward to hearing some Lost Highways stuff live, but is it really to much to ask for them to be a bit unpredictable and even reorder their set?

Bad name as #2 has to go. Sure, still play it but we all know by now its the second song. Do the band/Jon really not have the balls to just come out and tear into 'I Believe', 'Hey God' or even 'Raise your hands'? Opening with Rockin in the free world at MK night two was a nice touch, things like that go a long way with with the hardcore fans who appreicate it.

As i said, things look a bit more promising with how the HAND tour went with regards setlists. Am not expecting much at the O2 - itl be a greatest hits set plus 5 or so new songs. But at least reorder the set a bit! I can usually predict the order.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Good points mate.

Lets see, We Got It Goin' On ends on C minor.....hmm......what song also starts with this chord and could end up being #2? Oh that's right!!

So for starters:

We Got It Goin' On
Bad Name

Then maybe Lost Highway? To be honest, in much the same vain (vein?) as Bounce, only one (maybe two) songs off of Hand could make it into the set (HAND and possibly Who Says).

I get the feeling they're not gonna have the attitude of 'it's a one off so let's go for it'. More like a regular show to please the non die-hards. As much as I hate to say it, I'm not expecting any rarities whatsoever. Possibly Blood On Blood (after Jon stuck it in the middle of the set in Hull to get the boring crowd a bit more interested.....Jon's fault though......blah blah blah another story).

I think the guaranteed songs are Bad Name, Wanted, Prayer, Life, Faith and Sleep. Don't think there's any others is there?

Let's face it, Jon would never admit he can't reach the notes anymore and will still go for them and sound shocking. As long as he doesn't think he can pull off a solo during say, Die For You, we'll be Ok!!

I think we will deffo get...

Bad Name
Livin On A Prayer
Keep The Faith
Ill Sleep When I'm Dead
Have A Nice Day
It's My Life
Born To Be My Baby
In These Arms
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Raise Your Hands
Bad Medicine

then more than likely i'd expect...

Just Older
Runaway
I'll be There For You
Someday Ill Be Saturday Night
Who Says You Cant Go Home (just hope they DONT! carry on playing the extended version!)

add 5 or 6 new songs to that and i think we more or less have the setlist!

Default setlist

I would say that given Jon keeps mentioning he is a storyteller again we might get a few more storytelling songs.

1. Odds On Played:

Prayer
Bad Name
Wanted
Bad Medicine
Born to be my Baby
Its My Life
Have a Nice Day
Sleep When I'm Dead (god NO!)

2. Songs with a storytelling or Country side

Saturday Night
Blood on Blood
Who Says You Cant Go Home
Dry County (c'mon!)
Blaze of Glory (anyone?)
These Days
In These Arms

and then around 5 from the new album.

This is a one off show so i reckon they will practice a couple of times before but generally plump for songs that they can play in their sleep.

Please Please lets not have 2 months of torture where we all pray for the return of 'I Believe', 'Hey God' (or indeed anything from These Days), 'I'd Die for You', 'Something to Believe In (yes, I know its from these days but the memory of hearing at MK in 1996 still gives me shivers!)
We've all been there before - infact lets be honest, Jovi haven't done anything radical with the live shows since the 1996 tour - DONT expect it now!

They opened the Show in Hessisch Lichtenau/Germany with "raise your hands" on the HAND Tour. Still waiting for "I believe" though...

See, here's the thing, whether you like it or not you're never gonna get a BJ show without:
'Bad Name
Prayer
It's My Life
Wanted Dead or Alive
Bad Medicine
And most likely Who Says'

Sorry this may be a bit Off-Topic, but have they ever performed "Save A Prayer" Live?

With regards to the set-list, somehow I have this funny feeling that the first 4 songs will be something similar to Zepp Tokyo 2002 (New Track from the album, You Give Love A Bad Name, Livin' On A Prayer, Make A Memory and so on...)

Thing is though, on a tour, you get allsorts of people who just happened to casually buy a ticket however considering hw fast the tickets for this gig sold out (and the prices people are paying on ebay) i imagine that the majority if not all of the people there will be hardcore fans.... i wonder if they will take this into consideration.
