I m not stating that hes voice is the same... No it isnt, its a bit toned down... And thats normal becaouse 1989 was 20 years ago. But he still has it, he still can produce a magic, when he trys...

yeah the song doesn't seem to have that much energy to it live anymore. Jon could sound better on it, Richie could play it with more enthusiasm. It will ALWAYS be played. Nothings gonna change about that.......

Jon's voice is today completly different.
But it's different, it's not a terrible voice.... .

I think that bad name from '80s has more energy.
But you can't compare a tv performance (early in the morning in winter) with a performance taken from a real concert.

His voice was not in '95 tour for bad name!

Richie?. Richie now sings half chorus compared to 2000 version.
In '90's Jon could stop to sing: the band sang very well the chorus.
And now?. Now it's not possibile: Jon must sing every word!

Maybe the reason they haven't been delivering a good performance of this song lately is because they simply do not like it anymore (they have grown out of it) and are only performing it out of a sense of duty?

Band should not drop the hits that made them big.
With that said, the band should try to put more gusto into this song when performing it.

Yet, as has been said in other threads, how does it feel when you're AT that show. Does it feel lame and lacking energy? Never has with me.

Problem is we're the people who've heard every damn performance of Bad Name since the year dot. Have most people who go to a show? Probably not.

One thing watching You Tube videos to a song we've all heard done exactly the same a million times, another to be there, when Jon suddenly goes "...shot through the heart...". Go on, I dare you not to sing along?

Ask yourself honestly, who in 2009 is going to see Bon Jovi for the very first time?

Very few, I would imagine.

It might surprise you. But even if not, that wasn't the point. They might have seen Bon Jovi a few times before, but unlike most of us here, they won't have seen every You Tube/Bootleg/other live recording of Bad Name since the dawn of time.

Last week only in USA Crossroad sold 7500k copies. I bet that 80 percent of them were bought buy people who were not at any BJ concert to this date, and that half of them will go to the concert.
