LMS doesn't work as an opener, it just benefits from it's opening slot, all the side effects (Jon's position and the screen flipping over) and the intensity that would welcome any other opening song. Openers like I believe, Helter Skelter or OWN were a lot more efficient.

Complicated, often 3rd in the set and some people already sitting down.

Story of my life, same thing.

Novocaine, same thing + chating and/or going to the toilet.

HAND, this one does blow up the place, one of the too few highlights night after night.

WTWYA, this one works pretty well. Though I think it also benefits from the given intensity to any song to open the encores.

I didn't hear Last Cigarette or any other song from HAND live.

So overall I wouldn't say the new songs work. Only HAND will survive this tour.

I thought the new songs went over pretty well. Of course you can't compare them to the reaction for LOAP, Bad Name, Bad Medicine, Wanted etc. But I thought all in all they went over well. When I was at CAA I was in the lower level and hardly no one in that area sat down for the entire show. When I was at MSG a few people were sitting down in my section for almost the whole show. But you could tell they just weren't into as a whole. I was screaming my fool head off and they kept looking back at me like I was nuts....lol

The songs from HAND except from the title track do not work at all and turn the atmosphere down, the TLFR songs are crap, except for the curious BOG version, classic rockers are let down and everything older than 2000 is played safe and/or slow. Even the covers are a bit dull, or when they're not, they're played by the guys no one cares about.

I for one find the setlists very poor and safe.

I agree, the band, especiall Jon, sound better than the last tour. However, I disagree that the songs from HAND don't work. I think they all sound fantastic live. HAND just rips. Welcome...is a VERY pleasant surprise live. Complicated sounds rocking. LMS is much better live than I would have guessed. Novocaine is good, as is Story Of My Life. Only song I was a bit let down by was Last Cigarette. Song's nothing special anyways. Even Who Says...works well live.

umm, on the Crush tour fans did the same with the new songs and again with Bounce. Quite a few people that go to the shows are Bon Jovi fans but probably not their favorite band so they just wanna hear the singles while they don't even listen to the other songs. Plus I think you are wrong. I have been to 4 shows this tour and the fans seems to be into the new stuff, especially Who Says You Can't Go Home, Story of My Life, and Complicated. I knowI enjoyed hearing the new stuff. Welcome To Wherever You Are sounds great!

I could go on and I'm sure others could too.

but surely most bands as BIG as Bon Jovi with their kind of STATUS do not venture out through the crowd.. bodyguards or not...

Perhaps less known bands or artists do (although I have been to MANY concerts and have never seen it but i do believe you that it has happened before no doubt.) but I still think that Jon doing it is a really cool move.. it's not like he HAS to do it I wonder if any other "big" bands (U2, Aerosmith, etc.) will try and copy this on their next tour

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

From what I've seen at the shows I've been to, I'd say the HAND songs, ALL of them are going over a lot better as far as crowd reaction then any of the Bounce or Crush songs, outside of It's My Life, of course.

I'm not sure who mentioned that Jon quit smoking - if that's true that may be why he sounds so much better this tour. I would have to say that from what I saw all the new songs were going over quite well. At several of the concerts I attended I had mostly much younger people around me. They seemed to know every word of every new song that was played. Certainly no one was sitting down near me at Continental Arena on any night.

I'd like to know what concerts you went to that actually had a crowd that was into Complicated or Story of My Life. Even the Jersey crowd, of which I was a part of, didn't give a good reaction to these two. They could and should be replaced for the rest of the tour.

Ryan, you just don't know what you're talking about, concerning their live shows, because you didn't go to their concerts yet when they were damn good.
I've attended 5 shows, from 4 different tours. The first one I attended, in '95 cannot be compared to their shows they're putting up now- it was 100 times better than now. The Crush Tour was already much, much worse than the tour before, the These-Days Tour.
