Gosh, I'm trying so hard to hold off on going to all three Giants shows, money's tight, and I know they'll be coming back in the fall/winter, but it's getting hard to not give in, I'm afraid of what I might miss lol

TBH I have a feeling the first night maybe a big hits kind off night, what with the press and all the importnat people there. I reckon 2nd and 3rd it will really kick in

  • It is fantastic how much we can share of this tour through the Net. Instant Youtube videos are new and great.

  • It's just a rock show. Can't see it changing my life (Bruce being the obvious comparison). Maybe because I've already been there. But I can't really "believe" like I would have when I was younger. Maybe a couple of moments where I swelled and got the feeling listenign to them. Are they really trying to make a connection with people?

  • That said, prefer hearing new material to the rarities. Perhaps because I do want something that speaks to now. And they are more mature musicians than before (Compare Loves the Only Rule to Get Ready). However cliche the lyrics remain. I am not 17 any more. Never will be again. Neither will Bon Jovi be.

  • Pleasantly surprised by the Singing. Great musicianship all around. They seem like a band playing and communicating to each other, rather than putting on such a specatacle as they used to.

  • 20 songs is a ****ing joke. Even if the tickets were priced reasonably.

  • The O2 is still completely Pot Luck as to whether or not any given night will be worth paying for. In a fit of pique I vowed never to spend another penny on BJ, but if the tour pans out, I could forgive myself for finding a bargain ebay ticket.

  • It's a bit of a shame really. When they closed old Wembley, I had a ticket booked in advance for the Sunday night, but managed to score one the day before for Saturday. It seemed SO important to do. I wouldn't have forgiven myself for missing the show. I had no money, no place to stay. As far as I knew when the show ended, I would have been homeless on the Streets of London for the night. And you KNEW you would be getting a show that was worth it. NO questions.

Ended up at a cousin's, in the end. But something went wrong with the band that I could go from that kind of dedication to "whatever?" in a decade. And It's not me getting old and cynical. I still travel for music that's good enough. I still pay for music that's good enough. But BJ have a taint. Just a shame, that's all.

I'm quite happy overall honestly. I'm not a big fan of the first two records, but it's great that those songs are being played, and I love Tokyo Road. The selection from the Circle has been beautiful, with 7/12 songs showing up already. There should be a ( at most) 3 LH songs on any given night, logic being that WLOL and WGIGO will be regulars. All in all though, I couldn't have been any happier with things so far.

I'm not impressed with the new songs so far. I mean the way they sound live.

Live versions were always an improvement to the album tracks. They had something more, energy or intro, outro, solo, improvisation etc. Now it is the other way. What sounds good on the record sounds worse live. It is because of Jon's voice. But they should at least add something to the songs.

Yeah, but Jon always sounds ropey at the start of a tour. I'm hoping he'll get more comfortable with the older (and newer) songs as shows go by. He generally does seem to improve with time after getting the opening handful of shows under his belt. Fingers crossed.

Those who are saying play AOD...problem is it sucked live on the LH tour. Whereas WGIGO sucks, but actually does the trick live. But I agree, 1 or 2 LH songs max.

Other than new album songs, I'll be happy to hear one song I've never heard before.

I like the set lists so far. I'll speak up and say I really enjoy We Got It Going On so it's perfectly fine with me if they play it. I think it works really well live. I'm glad that Love's the Only Rule is being played. It's my favorite from the Circle. I just hope that there's a lot of variety in rotating the older songs and I hope they don't do a night of playing an entire album. I might thoroughly enjoy a New Jersey saturated show, but I think it's a bad idea to pull out the entire contents of 20+ year old album while trying to remain current and relevant today.

I agree. And I think he sounds a lot better right now than he sounded at the Prudential shows that started the LH tour.
