Default Ticket prices redux

I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion but I guess it's a sign of the times (e.g. gas prices and everything else). Perhaps it was only time before concerts went the way of baseball. It's been this way for years and I can appreciate the bru-hah (noted especially with the Miley Cyrus concerts) but it's what the market will bear....sadly so. People will pay, and when people stop going, prices will drop. No one should be afraid for Bon Jovi to make a buck or two.

The thing that is a slow irritant (like a mosquito) is the brazen way these ticket prices have risen. Hey look, if I want beahind the stage at BJ for ATL, I can pay $50 in the nose bleed seats. Ya get what ya pay for. If i want front row, I can pay $600 (or get VIP @ $1200 to stand up there for three songs...ya never saw THAT in the 80s...for 3 hours of entertainment, there's alot more things one can do for $1200 but ya gotta wear a condom. And she might know a Bon Jovi song or two....sweet!)

Seriously, I'm a loyal fan since 84. I hate the term "fan"...it implies idol worship...wish it was called an "appreciator" as I love the music but could care less about how the band looks or poses. so, if i don't like the prices, I will STFU and watch a DVD or something. But sure, I'll pay something...and continue to lend to the problem like everyone else. But if all these people pay to go to the same place, is there really a problem? Did 20,000 people all collectively make the same mistake in the same night in the same place?

We can't resist it. We'll follow. We'll pay untold amounts for overwhelming stimuli that we simply can't live without when it presents itself. That's what it means to be a fan or face bitter self-dissapointment (but a healthier bank account.)

If BJ gets the dough, God love 'em, and in no way should they feel bad for any of the masses who said "ok, we'll show up. Name your price."

Ticket prices raised in generell. Even though I don#t have anything to complain. The tickets here didn't became more expensive to last year, even though here in Germany they sell Golden Circle tickets now. And the fc-tickets for Germany are even a little cheaper than the GC-Tickets at Eventim.

No one forces you to buy the expensive packages. They are an offer, you don't have to take it.
