I don't see how the morals behind this way of selling tickets is any better than the scalpers. They are keeping tickets back themselves & selling them for ridiculous amounts - the only difference the scalpers do is they have to buy them first.

The difference for me is that the fan is setting the price in this case NOT the broker. So, if the bidding wars didn't happen you could get all of these tickets at face but people get greedy and drive up the price by just bidding against each other. So, the people bidding are in complete control of the outcome as far as price.
I bought tickets for the Chicago shows through the auction and I paid $20 above face for 7th row seats.
