Ticketmaster sucks, plain and simple.
I have complained on numerous music and sports related boards about ticketmaster. I went so far as to file a complaint with the better business bureau about them. What i got back was some horsesh** exscuse about how the handling fees vary according to the agreements with various venues/teams, and that how the fees are spent on upgrading computer software, ticketing system, etc...Load of crap if you ask me. Use the red hot chilli peppers as an example. Face value to their show at msg in nyc is 45.00. Then add 4.50 "facility charge"(madison square garden surcharge), ticketmaster's convience fee was 9.00!! 20% of the total face value of the ticket. Then they add 3.50 for "order processing" So your $90 face value for 2 tix now becomes $120.50. On the bright side, the attorney general here in ny is going after venues that add on a "facility charge" on top of the face value of the ticket. He wants the practice stopped immdiately. Let's hope he is successful.
